TIL: At a fundamental level, nature is not perfectly mirror-symmetric.
"For a long time, people assumed mirror symmetry had to be exact: if you reflected any physical process in a mirror, nature should allow the mirrored version just as well. That turns out to be false.
A famous example is beta decay: in the 1950s, Chien-Shiung Wu’s experiment showed that electrons from cobalt-60 decay preferred one direction relative to the nuclear spin, rather than being emitted in a mirror-symmetric way.
The question is whether this dynamic has actually played out in the last 3 years or not. That I'm not sure about. Quick search shows that there hasn't really been a consistent increasing or decreasing trend in rental prices of H100 or V100.
There's this common understanding that GPUs are a depreciating asset because of "technological obsolescence". There is a scenario though where it might not hold true.
This scenario only holds under certain assumptions though, one being that GPU compute is homogenous and older versions can run the latest AI models which I do believe to be the case. And that GPUs have a long shelf life, which is easily 5+ years even if you run them continuously.
@arpit_bhayani This makes no sense.
Why would you give an agent direct access to your database? No reasonable person does this in practice.
You need to treat it like a third-party developer. Give it an API. And once you do that, it's behavior is no different from that of a human API user.
GPT5.X's writing style literally hurts by brain. There's an over-use of bullet points. Every other phrase is bold or italic. It feels both verbose and terse at the same time.
The upside of it is that it's easy to identify low-effort AI slop by just the structure of the text.
