I do get heated whenever I see people blame pornography usage on a wife. I think that makes people assume it must be because this is a personal issue for me. It is personal in that although I have never dealt with this pain in my own marriage (thank the Lord), I have ministered to many Christian wives who have been forced to deal with it in their marriages.

I have personally known too many devoted Christian women who kept themselves free from sexual immorality before marriage and then once married, were loving, supportive wives, yet still had their hearts torn out by husbands who secretly and repeatedly returned to habits of porn usage that they had started as single men long before they ever met their wife for me not to get very angry when wives are blamed for a husband’s enslavement to pornography.

It is a lie from the pit of Hell. It contradicts the clear teaching of God’s Word that sin is the result of lust in an individual’s own heart, and it doubly victimizes wives who simply cannot satisfy the craving porn creates for things that are forbidden and who are already in agony, knowing that their husband does not delight in their love alone and that they have corrupted the marriage bed by bringing into it the impurity wrought by seeking sexual satisfaction with untold numbers of strange women online.

Their husband is not a one-woman man. He has betrayed the marriage covenant. He does not (and never actually did) have eyes for her alone, and the pain these wives suffer as a result is beyond imagination.

@sola_chad If you read the Bible, you would have to agree. Catholicism is not “just another denomination.” It is a false sense of security. People “feel” closer to God by going thru all the rituals, but often, they don’t know the Gospel. Right where Satan wants people.
