@EddieComeaux@KingJames@HBO@USATODAY I love how LeBron James is using his popularity to shed light on the disaster that is the NCAA. I hope many people will view this film and it will strike a long awaited conversation about how to make changes and improvements. #Athletics
@MaaaarisollM @dcmireles I agree, there should be a bigger emphasize on academics especially since most college athletes do not advance into their sports after college. @dmireles#UCR50
LOL when the NCAA thinks that the fear of compromising mens sports is more important than equal rights for women๐what a joke.

@hyoon012 @dcmireles love and agree with the article! if someone has the best skills on the playing field who says they shouldn't be able to participate regardless of their race, gender, or sexuality. #UCR50 @dcmireles
Is it really wise for colleges to not hold coaches accountable when they SAY education comes first, but ACT like it comes second?

@_arlenetellez @dcmireles I believe that there should be considering the fact that many student athletes suffer from a variety of mental illness and often times look towards drugs as a way to solve their problems. #UCR50 @dcmireles
@Olivia_Villa_18 @dcmireles It is interesting that athletes graduate at a higher rate, but does the graph take into consideration what major the athletes are in and with what degree they're graduating with? #UCR50 @dcmireles
It's absurd that universities make a ridiculous amount of money from athletes AND still expect them to pay increasing tuition. It's hard to tell if athletes are there for the education or universities gain. https://t.co/ZpefC4qMUf #UCR50 @dcmireles
@Karengosorio It's honestly really shocking the fact that coaches are paid more than professors, yet universities emphasize education first. Maybe universities should take a step back and rearrange their priorities. #UCR50 @dcmireles
Do sports help athletes learn to balance work and play OR do sports hinder athletes availability to focus on academics? What if we're asking the wrong question and instead should be asking HOW can sports mentally help students.

@SoniaMonroy15 When applying for work study there is an average of working only 8 to 12 hours so it does not hinder school work, yet student athletes are expected to practice 40 hrs a week which is practically a full time job! That is ridiculous! #UCR50 @dcmireles
Why are colleges angry that NCAA has the power to punish and promote programs even though the power was handed to them willingly?
