"The courage to start.
The discipline to focus.
The confidence to figure it out.
The patience to know progress is not always visible.
The persistence to keep going, even on the bad days.
That's the formula."

A favorite article this year:
“Trust is born of repeated, predictable interaction. If you do what you say you will and behave in a consistent way, that fosters trust. If you are erratic, unpredictable and unreliable, that undermines trust."

Give yourself the space to evolve.
Don't chain yourself to a single aspect of your identity.
Instead of saying, "This is who I am," turn your heart and feet toward something bigger: "This is who I strive to be."
Instead of asking "WHAT do you want to BE when you grow up?" ask children "What problems do you want to solve?"
We are not defined or made worthy by our jobs.
When we ask what problems children want to solve we encourage curiosity, creativity and contribution.
In healing, what is often overlooked is the power of validation. The words that tell someone we don’t think they’re crazy, we think they’re hurting. This has immediate and lasting impact.
After you’ve uncluttered and calmed your mental processes and created the necessary space between the thoughts and the thinker, you can begin to focus more on what you’re really all about: your core values & your most important goals.
It's difficult to "walk your why", if you don't know what your values are. These questions can help identify them.
1. Deep down, what matters?
2. What relationships do I want to build?
3. In which activities do I feel most alive?
4. If my stress were gone, what would I pursue?
Emotionally agile people still experience feelings of sadness, anger, and so on—who doesn’t?—but they face these with curiosity, self-compassion, and acceptance.
