The longer I’ve been coaching, the more I’ve begun to see the foot as the limiting factor in performance: the foot’s relative ability to absorb force or to redirect force seem to be keys in how fast you run, says @korfist. https://t.co/t92xeR2PhH via @SimpliFaster
“The nervous system can’t handle long durations of time. Speed work is maximal velocity for very short durations. Keep speed sessions at six seconds. If you run longer you are rehearsing a sub maximal motor pattern.” ~Loren Seagrave
Tonight’s #KUCancerFighter hero is Elijah Nix, a 16-year-old from Bolivar, MO. Elijah was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing’s sarcoma this past summer when a 3-inch tumor was found in his right leg and 4 other spots were detected in his lungs. It’s been a grueling stretch of chemo and a recent below-knee amputation but amazingly, Elijah has kept a positive attitude throughout & continues to wow his family with his courage and strength. Through it all, he’s earned the nickname “Champ”, which seems incredibly fitting for such a champion of a fighter & a young guy all of Jayhawk Nation is pulling for! 💙❤️
