The standard isn’t supposed to be easy.
The standard isn’t supposed to be convenient.
The standard isn’t supposed to be comfortable.
The standard isn’t supposed to be normal.
The standard requires that we make a choice: will we live our feelings or our standard?
The weight room is the most influential room in a school.
It’s not a place to hang out — it’s a classroom.
A place where habits are built, standards are set, and character is developed.
IU “undersized athletic” DL is out playing the “Standard” blue chip Miami OL….. stop telling them they need to gain weight.
Never sacrifice speed for size!!!!
Shane Steichen said, "Vague goals = vague results."
Clarity wins.
Set a clear goal.
Then reverse-engineer the process.
Build and develop the habit that makes it real.
The outcomes doesn't drive success - your system does.

Colts should have went for it on 4th and 3….
Seattle no timeouts.
I had 100% faith in Grupe to finish it.
But 47 seconds is too much time in Today’s NFL….
Just gotta find a play for 3 yards and you win the game.
DAGGUMMIT.
Kentucky HC Will Stein - Offensive Philosophy
Begin with the End in Mind
- Starts with the vision from the HC on how he wants the team to look
- My job is to make sure the vision comes to light
- After the game these MUST show up
1. Most physical team on the field
- Run to win
- Perimeter blocking
- Pass protection
2. Best players were utilized
- Feed the studs
- Screens & fly sweeps
3. Down the field shots
- Throw to score
4. Mix of formations, shifts, motions & tempos
5. Awareness & execution of situational football and "got to have it" scenarios.
6. Tricks
We’ve had bad pass interference calls all weekend and some missed PI calls. But the one in the Texans-Colts game was very bad. Blatant disregard of the rule when legs get tangled. And on top of that they missed a delay of game before the ball was snapped.
NFL has to do something about this.
Oregon HC Dan Lanning - Crazy Rules
- Defenders can align in any position but must be within 5 yards of their assignment.
- If you're a dropper, you must get counted in the protection.
- Forces OFF/Protections to account for multiple random alignments. Stole the idea from Phil Longo & implemented on the defensive side of the ball.
