Dear North Carolina,
I cain’t stand when some uppity transplant tries to preach at me - it makes it even worse when they’re blatantly lying to my people.
So allow me to tell y’all the truth:
Congresswoman Deborah Ross is NOT from North Carolina. She’s a Pennsylvanian. She’s not speaking for the people of North Carolina. She’s forcing her Pennsylvania views on the people of North Carolina.
And the people she’s crying about who are being held in that detention center are NOT North Carolinians. They’re illegal aliens. They committed the crime of entering our country and using our resources ILLEGALLY.
I hope that clears everything up.
Thanks,
The NC Queen
PS I do, in fact, want a similar detention center in North Carolina. And I hope they put it as close to Rep. Ross’s home as it can get.
@JLThunder545@FootballScoop Bad take. It takes two to tango and without those defenses, Brady would’ve been in a world of hurt regardless of how great he was.
@GuntherEagleman Fuck him!! Lots of damn good civics/history all over the country that also are damn good football coaches!! Always trying to be cute but he don’t get nothing done. FAKE!!!
Can you help me understand this one.
This beautiful Black girl names DaCara Thompson was brutally raped and murdered and thrown off a bridge by an illegal alien from Guatemala.
Not one word from Black Lives Matter.
Not one word from Jasmine Crockett.
Not one word from Joy Reid.
Not one word from the NAACP.
Not one muthafuckin word from THE VIEW.
And not one word from all yall white liberals.
But you can cry over a terrorist getting shot
for tryna run over an ICE agent?
OH HELL NO!
DaCara Thompson was 19 years old.
If she voted last year she definitely
voted for Kamala Harris.
The same Kamala Harris who was the border czar
that let her murderer into the country!
So I need to know:
WHERE are you AT WHEN BLACK WOMEN ARE BEING SLAUGHTERED BY ILLEGALS?
This aint right.
We lost.
Today @CityofWilm cut down three mature oaks on Live Oak Parkway. Trees that took decades to grow, gone because of a work order.
These trees survived generations of hurricanes, thunderstorms, winds and floods, witnessed thousands of little kids riding bikes under their shade, and grew to the highest heights of any trees in our community. But today, they died. Not at the hands of Mother Nature, who looked after them all this time. But by City of Wilmington leaders who signed the death warrant and then killed them.
We tried to stop it. Neighbors called their Council members. We got a meeting with the City's arborist. We asked for an independent second opinion before anything came down. The City said no.
Then the City admitted it dropped the ball on communication with residents before any of this started. They knew they failed us. They still took the trees down.
And where was the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees through all of this? Silent. The City has an active agreement to fund this organization through city tree mitigation dollars, an appropriation you won't find named anywhere in the City's public nonprofit funding disclosures. Three mature oaks came down on their watch, funded in part by the same city cutting them down, and we didn't hear a word from them. If you won't speak up when the City itself is cutting down trees, what exactly are our tax dollars funding?
I served four years on Wilmington City Council. I saw this pattern over and over. A decision gets made somewhere inside the bureaucracy. By the time residents find out, it's already final. The meetings that follow don't change anything. They just make it look like someone listened. Another term for this is lip service.
What actually makes Wilmington different from every other city experiencing rapid growth? I would argue the oak canopy on our tree-lined streets. It's the same thing that makes Charleston and Savannah feel like nowhere else in the country. You cannot build a hundred-year-old oak tree.
But in our ever-increasing effort to become Charlotte 2.0, liability comes first and our way of life comes second. Cut it down before it becomes a problem, before it becomes a lawsuit, before it becomes anyone's responsibility.
My neighborhood today. Yours tomorrow.
Save the Trees.
Don't Charlotte our Wilmington.

I don’t know you but that discussion gets you an INSTANT FOLLOWER!! I’m a native NC guy as is my wife and we grew up running down to Carolina & Wrightsville beach. Even before hwy 40 was an option 😂. It pains me to say we quit going years ago because we saw what was happening. It’s truly a shame!! I’m afraid you are correct that if there using some real change in the election cycle that it will become Asheville and the coats would be lost to thousands forever!! JMO
@RoamingGnome8@APDillon_ Im sorry for your loss. this has not been my experience. Mine has been the exact opposite with numerous family having spent time under their care. I would highly recommend ECU-H!! That said I’m disappointed they are on the list.
