Mid 4: Lovejoy 6, Emerson 1
Emerson puts some pressure on @SoftballLovejoy by loading the bases with one out, but a bunt is hit right back to Izzy Guarriello, who then turns the double play to get out of the jam.
STORY: With a winner-take-all backdrop for Thursday's one-game area playoff, @SoftballLovejoy put on a glorified home run derby -- belting five HRs to fuel a 12-1 run-rule victory over Frisco Emerson and secure a spot in the 5A D2 regional semifinals.

How the DFW donut cartel works (because you care):
There's a donut shop on every corner here. And they all get donuts from the same wholesaler, delivered at 3am daily...
...except for one. That one exception is called Max's Donuts in Allen. BEST DONUTS IN THE WORLD! Made on site. Always fresh, dense and chewy.
Are they paying me to tweet this? HECK NO! Their donuts are like $1.19 and weigh a pound.
They can't afford any marketing. And they don't need it. Their product sells itself. Line out the door.
They don't know who I am, but I've spent thousands there.
They've been run by the same family forever. Good people. Better donuts. All made on site. I want to see them win.
If you love small businesses run by great people and live within a 12 hour drive, go eat at Max's. They deserve your business. I've never had a better donut.
NEW: Community comes together and buys a South Bend, Indiana, man a new vehicle after his beat-up Chevy Silverado went viral online.
Mo Riles says his truck was severely damaged over the years.
Thanks to the fact that Indiana doesn't require routine vehicle inspections, Riles was able to keep driving the truck.
Local detailing shop owner Colin Crowel took note of the truck and decided to do something about the situation.
Crowel was able to raise $22,000, which was used to buy Riles a new truck.
"Here's a human being seeing another human being struggle. And I'm like, wow, what did I do to deserve this?" Riles said.
"This whole thing is not about me. It's about this community bonding together. God is good."
There’s only one real privilege, I call it: “Parent Privilege.”
Strong parents build strong families, and strong families are the backbone of a strong nation.
America’s success didn’t happen by accident, it was built on stable homes, shared values, and responsibility passed from one generation to the next.
Those are pro-American ideals worth protecting and celebrating.
CrossFit doesn’t end as you age; it evolves. This has been put on display at the 2025 Age-Group @crossfitgames, with four generations of athletes competing on the same floor.
The youngest and oldest are separated by 59 years.
“In CrossFit, we define health as work capacity across broad time and modal domains throughout your life… . Quite naturally, your work capacity is very low when you are born. It increases as you age, peaks in your mid-20s and early 30s, and then declines as you age,” says Stephane Rochet, CF-L3. “We realize the aging process cannot be halted. However, we can attenuate the effect of age-related changes and push them as far into the future as possible with effective, continuous training and proper diet. Put simply, CrossFit training delays the limiting effects of aging.”
Yes, the events have been modified for each division to take into account what the natural human body can do as we age, but every athlete this weekend is throwing heavy barbells over their heads, squatting, running, and jumping.
This is what peak athleticism looks like at every age.

Fitness is increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. This isn’t marketing fluff. It’s a quantifiable metric. And that matters, because what we measure, we manage.
The CrossFit Level 1 Training Guide, the cornerstone of the methodology, is clear: health is best assessed by measuring fitness over time [8]. If you are moving more weight, over varied durations, with greater speed and efficiency, you are getting fitter. And if you’re getting fitter, you’re becoming more resilient — physically, metabolically, and neurologically. Fitness is not done in a day’s work. It’s a journey that takes commitment, built on hard work and accepting that there are no shortcuts. CrossFit has no interest in fitness fads or cosmetic goals. The goal is capacity. Capacity is what keeps you off medications. It’s what allows you to carry your groceries at 85, to pick yourself up after a fall, to walk into your 90s with independence.
This isn’t abstract.
This is preventative medicine. You can see it on the whiteboard.
