I’m not a black father; I’m just a father.

I’m not a black American. I’m just an American.

My race doesn’t precede who I am or what I do.

We defeat racism by refusing to identify our race in every little characteristic about ourselves.

Control the controllables

[Jamy Bechler @jamybechler]

PLAYERS: Your coach shouldn't have to beg you to be unselfish, provide energy, have a good attitude, or give your best effort. Those are all things you can control. That is what a winning teammate brings to a team. Great teams have great teammates.

The 8 Realities of a HS Coach

1. It will consume you
2. There will be critics
3. You are not in it for the $
4. There is no overnight success
5. You need a supportive spouse
6. You will not make everyone happy
7. You can’t want it more than the kids
8. It is still WORTH it!
