Today’s American History Lesson: Puerto Rico has been part of the U.S. since 1898, and Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917 🇵🇷 🇺🇸
We’ve cheered many non-Americans at the #SuperBowl. Bad Bunny isn’t one of them.

"We're so afraid for our kids to be exposed to hard things.
Hard is good.
The earlier you can learn to deal with hard- the easier it gets.
Because hard is coming.
Whether we want to shield our kids from it or not, hard is coming- high school, college, first job- hard is coming."

True Competition means to strive with not strive against your opponent. You both bring out the best in each others. It’s not about wins and losses it’s about the pursuit of excellence with someone. BT did that for us tonight we just came up short.
John Wooden said, “You can’t let praise or criticism get to you. It’s a weakness to get caught up in either one.”
Criticism and praise are distractions if you let them be.
Your focus is what drives results.
Positive and negative events will always happen, but your ability to stay focused is what will determine your future.
Praise and criticism can influence your self-talk, beliefs, and actions.
There is no magic, just the decision on where to focus.
How to Deal with Praise and Criticism:
1. Stay Grounded With Humility
Embrace humility and stay grounded. You are never as good as your best performance and never as bad as your worst performance. Recognize that your worth is not defined by others' opinions.
2. Stay True To Yourself
Set your standard for performance and live to that standard. Be true to yourself and your values. Use praise as motivation and criticism as opportunities for growth while not losing sight of your purpose and goals.
3. Remember Your "Why"
Let your deeper motivations guide your actions and decisions. Praise and criticism don't define you as a person. When you know what you stand for then everything else becomes a distraction and noise.
4. Eliminate Distractions
Stay focused on what matters and who matters in your life. Everyone will always give you an opinion, but that doesn't mean it aligns with your goals. Create a supportive environment for your growth by managing the people and content you consume.
5. Use A Growth-Mindset
View all feedback as a chance to learn and improve. If it's praise, build on it. If it's criticism then address it constructively and see how you can improve. When you have an open mind then you realize that growth never stops.
6. Take Time To Reflect
Take time to reflect on the feedback received. Evaluate its relevance and think about the intent behind the feedback. Make sure that you reflect and take action based on how it aligns with your personal standards and aspirations.
7. Do It For Yourself, Not The Praise
External validation will always come and go. Avoid seeking it as your main source of confidence. Confidence starts from within so rely on your own sense of accomplishment and growth for self-assurance.

Explain to me how this happens? He was at the wrong house and honest mistake. He wasn’t trespassing. He wasn’t trying to break in. He rang the doorbell and now he’s fighting for his life. When does it stop? How does a mom protect her black sons from this? How?
Ralph Paul Yarl was picking up his two siblings. He went to the wrong house in Kansas City, Missouri. The White man who opened the door did not see a lost 16-year-old boy. He saw a threat. Shot Ralph, twice. Once in the head to kill him. Somehow Ralph survived. 1/
This broke me. I have so much to say about this but a tweet won’t do Justice. The fight that WOC fight is like none other. I hate that Dawn has to say this but it has to be sad. Go ahead and criticize it if you want but she’s not making this up. SMH
