“This son of a bitch is throwing a two-hit shutout, he’s shakin’ me off. You believe that shit? Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.”
Here’s new Tennessee pitching coach, Austin Knight, talking about his relationship with his pitchers.
Yeah, he’s going to be just fine.
What a home run hire by Elander.
The Georgia-Mississippi State game is three Bloody Marys at breakfast, 10 afternoon beers by the pool, four cocktails at dinner and six shots at the club drunk.
Josh Elander in a Tennessee press release on the addition of Austin Knight: "Austin has a proven track record of developing pitchers and leading successful staffs that compete at the highest level. He is an exceptional coach and recruiter whose values align with our culture, and we look forward to the impact he will have on our student-athletes and program."

‘Twas the night before Regionals, and all through the land,
College baseball fans had their fresh brackets in hand.
The gloves were all hung in dugouts with care,
With dreams that a trip to Omaha would soon be there.
The players were restless, lying in their beds,
Visions of walk-offs and dogpiles playing in their heads.
Coaches with lineup cards, fans dressed in team gear,
All counting the hours ‘til first pitch was here.
From Hattiesburg to Morgantown, Los Angeles too,
Sixteen proud Regionals with dreams to pursue.
The aces were ready, the closers locked in,
Each team just three wins from advancing again.
There’d be chaos and heartbreak, upsets galore,
Midnight finales, while fans beg for more.
A grand slam here, a web gem there,
And Omaha dreams suddenly filling the air.
College baseball diehard fans, come one, come all,
For the best month of the year has answered the call.
Ready for action, the announcers shout with delight:
“Happy Regional Weekend to all, and to all a good night!”
