@TedLeonsis Rest in peace Roger. One of the nicest people I met in my time in DC. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Kyle, and all his family. You will be greatly missed.
Congrats to @DianaTaurasi for an unbelievable career. She is the GOAT and we will miss seeing her on the court. But most of all, she makes everyone around her feel special and her friendship has meant so much to our family over the past 20+ years.
Caught up with Mike Thibault this week and here's his full quote about the Mystics' decision: "I am super appreciative of what Ted and Sheila did to empower us for the last 12 years. We came into a tough situation, they allowed us to run with it. They gave us resources to do it. Those resources were crucial in attracting free agents. They have treated us great. The fact that we were able to win a championship, gave excitement to everybody and validated what we were trying to do. In this business, you move on. After our championship year, we were set up to be good for the next year or two and then the pandemic happens and it changes everybody and the trajectory and everything else. There’s not anything you can do about that. I am really happy with my time in DC. I have no ill will. I had the ability to try to put my imprint on an organization and I’m proud about a lot of what we did. I’m doing great because I can look back with good memories on all of this."
Very sad to hear of the passing of Jerry West. He gave me my start in the NBA. Terrific person and professional!! My deepest condolences to his wife, Karen, and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him!
Very sad to hear of the passing of Senator Herb Kohl. Loved working for him with the Bucks. An extremely kind and decent human being with absolutely no pretense about him. He will be missed by all who were touched by his kindness.
@ncaawb Without the use of a charge circle, it’s already getting old watching players flopping all over the basket area trying to bait officials into calling bad offensive fouls. Please get this epidemic under control!
The start of a great friendship with @Lindsay_13 almost 20 years ago. Seems like someone who doing it the right way & had good young players improving in one of the toughest league’s in the country, deserved a chance to see what a second year with that group could accomplish. ❤️
Very sad to hear about the passing of Paul Silas. One of the classiest people I’ve met in my time in pro basketball. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.
Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me this past week! Very much appreciated. It has been a wonderful journey so far and we are looking forward to the next Mystics season and beyond as GM! This great game has given us so many rewards and special friendships for life!!
@StagsWBball opens the Leo D. Mahoney Arena in style. The Red Sea was back. Soon to be the toughest place to play in MAAC. Congrats to @CTbow on her first win at the new arena! Show up for them on Sunday against #21 Michigan! #GoStags
