Even @chuckschumer knows NY is still getting coal power from PA, a total loophole in (and stain on) all of the climate ambitions of NY.

The @IEA, in its net-zero report, focuses most of its policy rec's on cutting demand. Demand needs to fall first, followed by supply, to ensure orderly cleantech transition. If supply falls first and demand drop lags, oil prices will spike, which is bad & could stall transition.
Owner of two closed coal plants (Somerset and Cayuga) tells state regulator there is NO chance of them being used for behind-the-meter cryptocurrency mining despite concerns raised by advocates
@NYforCleanPower I thought the new Danskammer was supposed to be Hydrogen or some other sort of clean power with nat gas as a backup?
And if that is opposed, then why is NY ok with allowing NYSEG to import way dirtier coal power from PJM's Homer City facility with their firm transmission?
so much attention on FUTURE regulation with concern over NRG Astoria & at today's #clcpa power gen meeting...
...meanwhile CURRENT @NYSDEC regulation being side-stepped as @AVANGRID & @NYSEandG bring coal power into NY.

Did you know studies show that women leaders take more #ClimateAction?
@RachelsAction’s When Women Lead report combed through our #LCVScorecard and found that those studies hold true for the U.S.
It's #InternationalWomensDay so a perfect time to dive in➡️https://t.co/4Lec1vJF45
@NRDCEnergy @NCapretz@SempraEnergy@socalgas@SDGE the same could be said about @AVANGRID in NY. they continue to import coal power into the state even though it was banned by the @NYSDEC beginning this year. @NRDCNY
.@GreenBiz provides a look at how the push to decarbonize the industrial sector is picking up steam, with companies finding more #RenewableEnergy alternatives to power their operations and save money: https://t.co/2f4BgGmEJX
Congress has not seriously confronted climate legislation in more than a decade. If America delays a decade more, it will pay for the privilege https://t.co/kMO9ILhHz9
NY was spared Homer City's dirty coal power in Nov when @NYSDEC rules still allowed and the price was $.10, but when coal power is banned from NY in Jan, @NYSEandG decides to ignore rules & bring coal into NY for $.06. how does this make any sense? @greenwatchdogNY@m_jfrench
Yes! "Climate change is the existential crisis that faces us" @NYGovCuomo says we will move toward a green energy future, not just building renewables but manufacturing and jobs that support clean energy 👏👏👏
Let's not forget our biggest source of pollution: transportation
A @NYGovCuomo#StateOfTheState unlike any other, delivered virtually amidst multiple national crises. The Governor announced a major push to make clean energy a major component of our rebuild— to create jobs and fight #ClimateChange. 🌎
The @NYSDEC’s improved social cost of #carbon will be a powerful tool for New York regulators to continue to lead the nation in the fight against #ClimateChange. Kudos! https://t.co/f0VpuqgphR
