My MIL knew my husband wanted Sophia as a baby name… so she decided to name her new dog Sophia. When my mom said something to her, she changed it to the “Italian spelling” Sofie. My husband doesn’t comprehend that Sophia is no longer an option… I’m not naming my kid after a dog
