If Colt Shelby gets 3% or more in the gubernatorial race this year, we will be considered an “established political party” and not have to petition for 2028. #VoteGold#arpx
The Arkansas TV debate series runs this week. Tune in Monday to hear from U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Wadlin. We are still waiting to see if the sitting senator will answer questions before the people of Arkansas. #arpx
The Prison Angle
Senator Alan Clark chairs Judiciary. He backed the Franklin County prison, and that vote was about as unconservative as it gets, a massive new facility after the funding bill had already failed five times. Now he is doing @SarahHuckabee work for her.
Last month the committee asked a simple question: do we need more prison beds? The answer was yes. We are overcrowded. The Department of Corrections is short staffed, and there has been a hiring freeze for 6 months with 700 vacancies unless that has quietly changed.
This month the question flipped to how we reduce the number of beds Arkansas will need. The answer is sitting in plain sight. The Protect Arkansas Act is driving up the population by design. It costs taxpayers more and cuts off earned release. The number of people who reach parole eligibility and still get denied is ridiculous. Sanders put Boyce Hamlet in charge of the Post-Prison Transfer Board for a reason: to hold the line and deny.
Seventeen groups showed up and did the work in this meeting. Many left feeling unheard. These were families living with the consequences, offering real fixes. That is not the answer this committee wants. They want to build. They want to justify the neglect and the waste already sunk into Franklin County, and they are staging these hearings to get there.
If I were governor, the plan would be different we would push to amend the Protect Act, so truth in sentencing does not mean permanent overcrowding. Expand mental health treatment and real recidivism programs inside the system. Finish the Calico Rock expansion, roughly 525 beds that were already planned and then shelved. Expand 8 of the existing county facilities where over 60% of our crime comes from and actually run programs, the way CSI does in Pulaski County. Build re-entry that starts before release, not after someone fails. Use parole, pardons, and second chances for people who have earned them. Put more parole officers on the street so a second chance comes with real supervision, not a free pass.
We do not fix overcrowding by building our way out of a law that created it.
Frustrated with Republicans?
The solution is NOT to vote Democrat.
Want to really send a message?
Instead of staying home, show up…
Do what both parties DON’T want you to do…
Vote Libertarian 🗽
@OldTony1@thetrueshelby Definitely isn’t. Unfortunately we have no recourse. No opponent. No way to remove him from the ballot. He didn’t withdraw from the race when he still could. Idk what he plans to do once inevitably elected. People suggest he not take the oath and let the QC choose someone else.
Did you guys see this?
Conservative outlet polling their followers, 95% for Republican senate. But ONLY 50% for Gallrein, and around 45% for some guy that “can’t win”. This wasn’t some poll where our followers flooded it, in fact I didn’t even share it. The Republican pages did though (you can see I was leading before they did)
If republicans are voting this way, imagine what independents are going to do. An America First reckoning is coming!
Political Parties are not identity.
Political Parties are not dogma.
Political Parties are not the mission.
Americans are tired of being held hostage by political parties. It’s time to break that system.
@beinlibertarian How about instead of sitting out every dissident casts votes in this priority: 1 - Libertarians and Independents, 2 - non-incumbents if they seem okay, and 3 - undervote each race where we don’t any of those options. Could make for some interesting outcomes. 🔧 #arpx
