The libertarian national convention in 2026, is the first time in a long time that I have cared at all about electoral politics. Not because I believe we can vote our way out of this, but because I have seen honor among the new board.
The rise of the MC in the libertarian party put pressure on existing divides, and exasperated them into an all out internal duopoly between socially progressive and socially conservative libertarians. This divide can still be felt, with extremely small philosophical differences causing some members to hate one another. This is something I personally felt from many members of my own state affiliate, who I believe have fallen for libel and mischaracterizations by those who are ill informed.
Yet, there is hope now in this new board that they are rising above. @Jtodd601 is a conservatarian, closer to Massie than myself. His messaging will likely miss key elements that would reach someone like me. Yet I wouldn't call him my enemy, and now national isn't either. The people running the party could double down on the internal divide and blacklist him from social media amplification through the @LPNational page. Yet, they didn't. With @LPchair actively gathering signatures in KY-04. An olive branch is being given regardless of our differences and this could form an alliance between the grownups in the room for the betterment of the party and movement.
We have more in common than we have in difference, and if we learned to speak to one another with respect, we may actually have a chance to spread the philosophy of liberty to the masses. Will we be able to achieve a social revolution for freedom instead of the violent one like America's forefathers? With the rising technocratic totalitarianism it may not be up to us, but we have to try. So anyone out there wanting to speak/vent to someone deemed a "left libertarian"(even though I'm a free market anarchist) then I am open and willing to help bridge the divide, no matter how sensitive the topic.
In the same way I judged Angela's term as Chair, I will do so for @LPchair Evan McMahon--based on what he told to me on my show. I will also afford him time to meet the goals as I did Angela.
To help others focus on the right things, here is what he said.
Godspeed Evan.
Statement on the Disaffiliation of LPNH
“The resolution to disaffiliate the Libertarian party of New Hampshire was the unfortunate culmination of years of behavior in violation of the Libertarian Party’s platform,” said new LNC Chair Evan McMahon. “These violations reached an impasse, and the previous Libertarian National Committee was unable to reach an armistice with the LPNH. One of my top priorities coming into office was to make it clear that the LNC will adhere to the platform and determine who we will associate with based on those grounds.”
Language from the Motion to Disaffiliate LPNH
The bylaws are clear that affiliate Parties shall not endorse the candidate of another Party. Despite this, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire openly and publicly endorsed President Trump during the election in 2024.
Furthermore, they have crudely and repeatedly undermined our own candidates and have espoused numerous anti-libertarian positions on a National level.
Be it Resolved that because of these reasons and more, the Libertarian National Committee moves to disaffiliate the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, mandating that they cease and desist the use of the Party name and logo, until such a time as the LNC recognizes a new affiliate in New Hampshire that shares our Party’s foundational values.
No idea why the Paleos just don’t concentrate on Constitution Party, some similar ideas to LP but with conservative issues they support, some ballot access so not starting from zero, and they’d actually welcome you. With a name and branding already suited. McArdle and Heise would fit right in and I don’t mean that sarcastically. Her embezzlement baggage would be at least once removed. Quite silly of them.
Kentucky voters! This is URGENT!
Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District (currently held by Thomas Massie) is trying to get a Libertarian candidate on the ballot. Petition signatures are needed by voters in the district. Please contact Jeremy Todd @Jtodd601 or @lpky to help. Deadline is June 2nd!
@sunnyright Nothing left but a wonderful family, 30 patents, 2 engineering degrees from MIT, a farm with a peach orchard, a herd of Wagyu cattle, a dozen inventions in my head, a clucks capacitor roaming my fields, and investors lined up to back whatever I invent next.
More money is being spent to defeat @RepThomasMassie than any other U.S. House member in history.
Not because he can single-handedly change legislative outcomes—he has just one vote.
But because he exposes the lies and corruption of those who hold political and financial power.
I unfortunately have to admit something.
I voted for a high school kid to run this country in 2024.
Thomas Massie votes against a bill? "Worst Republican in history." "Disloyal." "Sanctimonious fool." "May we never have to deal with him again."
Lauren Boebert campaigns for the wrong person? "Weak minded." "Dumb." "Carpetbagger." "Deserves a good primary fight."
This is the President of the United States.
Publicly trashing members of his own party because they didn't fall in line.
Not debating their positions. Not explaining why they're wrong. Not making a case.
Name calling.
On social media.
Like a teenager who got left out of the group chat.
"He's disloyal." "She's weak minded." "Vote them out."
That's not leadership. That's a popularity contest at a lunch table.
You disagree with the boss and instead of a conversation you get publicly humiliated and threatened with a primary challenger.
That's not how a president handles disagreement.
That's how a bully handles it.
Massie voted no on something he believed was wrong. That's literally his job. That's what Americans elected him to do. Think for himself and represent his district.
But in this version of the Republican Party, thinking for yourself gets you a public hit piece from the leader of the free world.
And the base cheers for it.
When did "loyalty to one man" replace "loyalty to the Constitution"?
I voted for a president.
I got a hall monitor with a Truth Social account.
