Statement on House Vote to Revoke AUMF in Iran War

“For the first time in twenty-five years, Congress has taken steps to reign in the abuse of powers by the Executive Office, and take back its designated authority over waging war in America’s name by voting to end the war in Iran and revoke the use of the AUMF in this conflict,” said Evan McMahon, Chair of the Libertarian Party.

“While barriers remain in the Senate, and with the President, at least a message has been sent that the people’s representatives have heard our plea for peace and an end to the forever wars.”

With $0 raised, because we chose not to rely on PAC money or special-interest donors, we accomplished this together. There is now a real possibility that a Libertarian will advance to the general election for State Senate.
