Statement on House Vote to Revoke AUMF in Iran War
“For the first time in twenty-five years, Congress has taken steps to reign in the abuse of powers by the Executive Office, and take back its designated authority over waging war in America’s name by voting to end the war in Iran and revoke the use of the AUMF in this conflict,” said Evan McMahon, Chair of the Libertarian Party.
“While barriers remain in the Senate, and with the President, at least a message has been sent that the people’s representatives have heard our plea for peace and an end to the forever wars.”
– @LPchair Evan McMahon
Let's take a moment to appreciate what just happened.
With $0 raised, because we chose not to rely on PAC money or special-interest donors, we accomplished this together. There is now a real possibility that a Libertarian will advance to the general election for State Senate.
I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who believed in this campaign and cast their vote for me. Your support proves that principles, hard work, and a message of freedom can still compete in California politics.
We're just getting started. Let's go! @LPNational@LPchair@LPofCal@KMPHFOX26
@BoldGold94 You are more than a passable delegation chair. You wrangled your delegates, got through regional formation, and elected a region rep/alt. Functional and not embarrassing.
“What’s the most authoritarian thing normal Americans do without realizing it?”
Jeremy Todd is the Libertarian candidate in Kentucky’s 4th district, working to fill Thomas Massie’s seat.

@regjoeschmo@NavyEMC@LPofMN Correct. The US should not be sending arms or soldiers to Ukraine/Russia or involve us in any other country's conflicts. That doesn't mean that the public can't call out Russia for its years of aggression and invasion of Ukraine.
Thank you, Rebecca Whiting, Army combat vet and Chair of the @LPofMN, for sharing your story of the horrors of war with the LP convention delegates on Memorial Day. "We owe it to the service members not to put their lives in danger recklessly and to not use their willingness to sacrifice for their country abusively."
@BrianPelti14722@LPofMN I just checked the backend of YouTube... it's not there. I have reached out to the convention AV team to see if there are physical recordings of the event. I think (hope) there are. So it might take a little longer. But I will keep looking for it.
