Political movements that win at higher levels of office do not arrive fully formed. They compound. A state representative race this year becomes name recognition next year, becomes a county commission seat after that, becomes a credible congressional campaign the cycle after that. Every durable political movement in American history was built this way, almost always by people who lost first and kept going anyway. https://t.co/nyCjP2osxT
The United States still has time to avoid the mistakes of Britain. Supply constraints and high prices are always a matter of excessive government intervention. We know where government needs to get out of the way. All that is missing is the political will to do so.
"Britain was the cradle of the Industrial Revolution—where cheap, abundant coal fuelled the inventions that built the modern world. Those breakthroughs—railways, modern medicine and electricity—transformed humanity. But we often forget that it was energy, our ability to produce it and (crucially) to store it, that made all of this possible.
Yet despite this proud history as the original energy superpower, modern Britain is anything but: it is burdened by crumbling infrastructure, a sclerotic planning system and skyrocketing bills. Central to these energy challenges is our energy insecurity."
- Sebastian Charleton
Americans demand and receive the best services in the world in all aspects of life except for in politics. Our consumer goods, scientific, and technological achievements are all products of market-driven innovation.
Two party politics necessarily impedes competition, chilling progress and innovation. Its time for Americans to demand better from their government in the way that they demand better from the private sector.
If these career politicians were interested in addressing affordability they would have started working on ideas years ago instead of waiting for an election year. Republicans and Democrats do not sincerely monitor the interests of Connecticut residents.
Checks and balances plus decentralization brought us the individual freedoms of the modern age. Powerful, centralized authority can only exist as a threat to these freedoms.
The vision of the Revolution, of equal rights for all, is betrayed when we choose government as our tool to solve social problems.
American independence did not extend liberty to women, but it changed the rules by which they could obtain it. @jmelemke on how new ideas about liberty, wider freedom of action, and local autonomy made the fight for women’s rights possible

No Republican or Democrat can be trusted on cost of living issues. Only the Libertarian Party wants to prevent government from interfering with the efficiency and productivity of a consumer-driven market.
The two party system only exists to nullify any sense of competition. This is why all Democratic and Republican politicians effectively govern the same way with the same results.
We no longer have any 3rd options in Georgia. The system isn't fair, it's not designed to listen to the people. It's control.
Talk to your representatives about changing ballot access laws and voting reforms to make it so you can vote for someone you believe in at the polls.
“I'd like the American people and world leaders everywhere to think long and hard about this question: is chronic deficit spending sustainable? Can the federal government, or any government, keep borrowing and borrowing forever?
The Libertarian view is that it can't, and it's wrong anyway. For us, deficit spending is like stealing from our grandchildren.”
– Stephen Villee, Libertarian for Governor of New Hampshire
In both France and Spain, people are right to be angry at government failure. But they're mistaken in assuming more government is the cure.

Only the Libertarian Party truly opposes socialism. Government ought never to redirect private property toward the interests of an imaginary general will.
The government has acquired equity stakes in 35 private companies since last June. No congressional approval, no public debate. Unprecedented.
We launched the Restoring Free Enterprise project to push back. Read more from @scottlincicome.

Bob Duff's campaign website is filled with anecdotes of all the welfare handouts that he has supported for special interests. These are supposed to be evidence that Duff is worth re-election into his position of leadership in the Senate.
Now he acts surprised that one of the state's most favored special interests is abusing the welfare that it receives under his leadership.
The Eversource CEO told Wall Street about "over $1 billion in cash coming in the door" and urged investors to "get in heavy" to rake in big profits.
It gets worse. He admitted Eversource "shut the faucet off in Connecticut" until it got paid.
It is a part, but not the whole, meaning we welcome anarchists to join us among any others who aspire to reduce the size and scope of government.
The platform exists to outline our preferred direction for government policy, not to identify any specific end state for government.
Government is the business of making voters think that the state is needed to prevent the collapse of civilization. The actual matter of civilizational maintenance is unnecessary because government is unnecessary.
It’s under-discussed that:
1. Trump and his supporters are obsessed with immigration as a civilization-defining issue
2. They haven’t tried to pass an immigration bill of any kind

Amplifying the failed subsidies, regulations, and healthcare monopolies that created this crisis is not a solution.
This is what happens when unaccountable politicians have no worry for competition. This is the logical
conclusion of a two party electoral system.
Government creates incentives for distrust and suspicion, which leads to hatred and hostility.
Instead, libertarians seek solutions to social conflict through voluntary exchange and cooperation. Low stakes, low risk interactions removes these bad incentives that are produced by government.
Economic theory and empirical research show that trade reduces prejudice.
When there is money to be made, trading with unfamiliar people is more appealing. And the more you trade with other groups, the more you realize they aren’t as bad as you thought.

Revealing to the median voter how deeply entrenched and corrupt the two party system truly is can be one of the most valuable functions of a third party candidacy.
Without someone to illuminate the need for reform we cannot expect there to be demand for reform.
