The CCC flood team will be hosting a flood resilience event and will be joined by the Environment Agency... 27th March in the St Neots Library ( PE19 2BH ), from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
@SteveCount, the FLAG received a direct apology from you regarding the non clearance of drains in St Neots. We NOW demand an apology from @stevetierney he cannot rewrite history...
@BOROFERGIE thankyou for your continue support
Very disappointing that @stevetierney ( CCC Conservative Councillor ) thinks that flooding in St Neots is a joke... and denies that the drains weren't cleaned for five years...

the FLAG applied direct pressure to CCC Highways and forced a gully clearance to start in early December 2020... deny all you like @stevetierney but you CANNOT rewrite history

@BenObeseJecty Within the Great Ouse catchment, there are many significant issues. However under funding of the EA has lead to a sticking plaster approach to assets. Have a read at the article tweeted earlier.
@BenObeseJecty I'm not suggesting they are. Yes, I did read the article and I am fully aware of the roles and responsibilities AND flood resilience and that it's not a one size fits all ( have been involved in flood resilience personally for almost forty years ).

Today, I attended the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee meeting for the River Great Ouse. I offered a strong challenge to EA on the quality of St Neots telemetry, the efficacy of the flood warning system, and the fact that two sluice gates close to St Ives are not working, and might have contributed to the flooding of Crystal Lakes and the Pike and Eel Marina. I also requested that FLAGs be represented on the RFCC.
Thank you to St Neots FLAG - flood liaison action group and St Ives FLAG for challenging me so that I could challenge the EA.
@AnthonyBrowneMP Really, or is this a library shot... doubt you were local as have asked to meet now three times seeing you are an Under-Secretary of State for Transport. Does photo ops ( A428 upgrade recently ) but doesn't bother with proactive discussions. #feelingletdown
@alexbeckett Don't forget the cyclical maintenance of the gully system... the weather gurus talking about a wet February... need to keep pluvial issues to a minimum 👍🏻 Councillor Count's administration failed miserably in this respect when they neglected them for circa five years 👍🏻
