🎞️ My Experience with Each Screen

1. EPIQ Screen (Screen 6) at ART CINEMAS:

This was my first watch of THE ODYSSEY, and I loved the experience. The image quality was good, covering almost the entire screen with very thin black bars on the left and right sides, which were hardly noticeable. The image was bright, and all the details were clearly visible.

Usually, the sound experience in this screen varies from movie to movie. EPIQ-formatted movies deliver the best sound. Even though THE ODYSSEY is not an EPIQ-formatted movie, the sound was very good. Overall, it was a very good experience.

2. Dolby Cinema (Screen 1) at ALLU CINEMAS:

This was my second watch, and it was the best experience among all my watches. Both the image quality and sound quality were outstanding.

This is the best sound experience I have had in this Dolby Cinema screen among all the movies I have watched here. (Including this, I have watched 18 movies on this screen.)

The background score during the Troy gates opening scene made me feel tense and anxious. The music created a feeling of anxiety that I could actually feel in my stomach. This scene can be used as a reference to compare the sound quality across different screens. It is one of the best sound experiences I have had.

The image looked amazing on the large screen, filling the entire screen. The contrast and colors looked excellent.

3. Screen 2 (Barco Laser 4K Atmos) at ALLU CINEMAS (Telugu Version):

I also wanted to watch the Telugu version on a flat screen. This is a Barco Laser 4K Atmos flat screen.

It was a good experience, but not a great one. I can say this was the least enjoyable watch for me in all aspects. I have not included it in the rankings since it is the Telugu version. Also, all the other screenings offered a better overall experience.

4. HDR by Barco Format (Screen 4) at Prasads Multiplex:

It was a good experience, but it did not meet my expectations.

I watched Project Hail Mary and Supergirl in the same auditorium, and both looked amazing. In fact, Project Hail Mary looked better on this screen than in Dolby Cinema.

However, for THE ODYSSEY, the experience was good but not great for me. In a few dark scenes, the image did not look very clear. I also did not notice a significant HDR difference in this movie. The sound was good.

5. EPIQ LUXON Screen (Screen 2) at AAA CINEMAS:

As expected, THE ODYSSEY looked beautiful on this LED screen. This was one of the best visual experiences among all the screens I watched.

However, at one or two scene transitions, I noticed brief display inconsistencies on the LED screen. They appeared only for a moment but were noticeable.

The sound was also good. However, it was not as loud and had less bass compared to the other screens I watched.

Overall, it was an amazing experience.

6. PCX Screen (Screen 6) at Prasads Multiplex:

The sound was very good, as always in PCX.

However, the image looked dull compared to the other screens. This was especially noticeable in the Cyclops Cave and Hades scenes, where many details were not clearly visible. The image also did not look as sharp.

The visuals looked larger on this screen, but the overall image quality was not as good as the others. However, the sound was excellent and remains one of the biggest strengths of this auditorium.

PS: This ranking is only for THE ODYSSEY viewing experience. It is not a general ranking of these screens. For other movies, my rankings could be different.

Okay so, Dolby Cinema is definitely one of the BEST FORMATS in the whole world to experience #TheOdyssey

Allu Cinemas has been literally been AMAZING in terms of the Dolby Vision grade and the 5.1 audio! The surround was INSANE, the bass just immense and the screen, SUPER IMMERSIVE.

The blacks were crushed but not too much, just the right amount. There was no highlight clipping which is a great thing.

This format & this audi surely justifies the "As Nolan Intended" tag and this audi itself has never felt more perfect as much as for The Odyssey. The movie utilizes the massive 75ft screen perfectly filling up the whole screen with deep blacks, beautiful colors while preserving that 70mm film grain.
