Glottoplasty is the name of a medical process by which vocal cords are shortened, surgically altering their structure to emit a more highly pitched, or more feminine, sound. It is also the title of Coco Klockner's sound installation in Greater New York, which remains on view through September 7 in the show's extended partial view.

For the installation, Klockner cut the cones out of six speakers and inserted them into plastic storage drawers. The work incorporates excerpts from trans oral history archives around the country, alongside the artist's own voice and Foley sounds, all subjected to distortion, saturation, and modulation that results in a syncopated cacophony.
