Discussing the Congress's electoral decline without discussing electoral bonds, the SIR, and the abuse of EC, ED and CBI, and breaking of electoral mandates and political parties alike, is like analysing a cricket match while refusing to acknowledge that one team got to appoint the umpire. It isn't objective, it's selectively incomplete.

Rahul Gandhi and the Congress can certainly be questioned and held accountable. But accountability that is demanded only of the opposition, while treating the institutional playing field as neutral and uncontested, is not just tone-deaf or unserious. It is manipulative. What is omitted from the analysis is doing as much work as what is included.

२०१९ मध्ये राहुल गांधी अमेठीतून लोकसभेची निवडणूक हरले, तेव्हा संसद भवन परिसरात एका पत्रकाराने टीएमसीचे खासदार डेरेक ओ’ब्रायन यांना राहुल गांधींच्या एका वक्तव्यावर प्रतिक्रिया विचारली. त्यावर डेरेक ओ’ब्रायन यांनी उपरोधिकपणे विचारले होते, “राहुल कोण आहेत? ते वायनाडचे खासदार आहेत का?”

२०२१ मध्ये पश्चिम बंगालमधील प्रचंड विजयानंतर ममता बॅनर्जी आणि तृणमूल काँग्रेस देशभरात काँग्रेसला पर्याय उभा करण्याच्या प्रयत्नात होते. गोवा, मेघालय आणि इतर राज्यांमध्ये काँग्रेसची राजकीय जागा घेण्याची मोहीम सुरू होती. त्याच काळात मुंबईत शरद पवार यांची भेट घेतल्यानंतर पत्रकारांनी “यूपीए”बद्दल विचारले असता ममता बॅनर्जी यांनी स्पष्टपणे म्हटले होते, “यूपीए अस्तित्वात नाही.”

२०२४ च्या लोकसभा निवडणुकीतही पश्चिम बंगालमध्ये काँग्रेसला एकही जागा देण्यास त्यांनी नकार दिला. विधानसभा निवडणुकांच्या पार्श्वभूमीवरही त्यांचे वारंवार एकच म्हणणे होते “बंगालमध्ये काँग्रेस नावाचा पक्षच नाही, मग आघाडीचा प्रश्न कुठे येतो?”

२०२६ निवडणुकी नंतर खा.अभिषेक बॅनर्जी यांच्यावर हल्ला झाल्यानंतर स्वतः राहुल गांधी यांनी ममता बॅनर्जी यांना फोन करून त्यांच्या प्रकृतीची विचारपूस केली होती. “मी तुमच्यासाठी काय मदत करू शकतो?” अशी विचारणा करत त्यांनी राजकीय मतभेद बाजूला ठेवून माणुसकी आणि सहकार्याची भूमिका दाखवली होती.

पण आज चित्र पूर्णपणे बदललेले दिसते.

आज स्वतः ममता बॅनर्जी आणि तृणमूल काँग्रेसचे अनेक नेते प्रत्येक राजकीय चर्चेत राहुल गांधींचा उल्लेख करतात. काँग्रेसच्या नेतृत्वाखालील विरोधी आघाडीत एकत्र काम करण्याची भाषा बोलतात.

विशेष म्हणजे, राहुल गांधी मात्र कधीही भूतकाळातील वक्तव्यांची आठवण करून देत नाहीत. ना ते असलं काही लक्षात ठेवतात. ते ना कोणाला कमी लेखतात, ना उपरोधिक प्रतिक्रिया देतात. उलट विरोधकांची एकजूट, सहकार्य आणि सामूहिक लढ्याचीच भूमिका मांडतात.

राजकारणात पदे, सत्ता आणि समीकरणे बदलत राहतात. पण काळ जसजसा पुढे सरकतो, तसतसे नेतृत्वाचे खरे मोल समोर येते.

कारण शेवटी, जेव्हा एखादा नेता मनाने मोठा आणि सर्वांना सोबत घेऊन चालणारा असतो, तेव्हा त्याच्या सोबत उभे राहणे हेच अनेकांसाठी अभिमानाची गोष्ट बनते.

राहुल गांधी हे केवळ एक राजकारणी नाहीत, तर त्याग, बलिदान, संयम आणि संघर्षाचे प्रतीक आहेत.
म्हणूनच राहुल गांधी होणं सोपं नाही. ❤️

आज सवेरे से मैं और मेरी बेटी “एग्जाम वॉरियर” बने हुए हैं!

सवेरे 9 से 12 तक दिल्ली-हरियाणा बॉर्डर पर IISER की परीक्षा दी।

और फ़िर दोपहर 3 से 5 के बीच यूपी-दिल्ली बॉर्डर पर CUET परीक्षा!

दोनों के बीच की दूरी थी मात्र 61 किलोमीटर!

जैसे ही 12 बजे पहली परीक्षा खत्म हुई, मेरी बेटी उसी तत्परता से भीड़ को चीरते हुए बाहर आई, जैसे हवाई जहाज़ लैंड होने पर कनेक्टिंग फ्लाइट वाले बाहर निकलते हैं!

फिर भी परीक्षा केंद्र से बाहर निकलकर, ट्रैफिक जाम से जूझते हुए, मेन रोड तक आते आते 12:55 हो गए थे!

और अभी हमें 59 किलोमीटर की दूरी तय करनी थी, जो कि उस वक़्त धरती के दूसरे छोर पर जाने जैसी लग रही थी!

गूगल नेविगेटर अगले सेंटर पर पहुँचने का समय 2:18 बता रहा था। 2:30 बजे के बाद एंट्री नहीं हो सकती थी।

ऐसे में, सड़क पर हर रेड लाइट, हर एक रुका हुआ ट्रैफिक दिल की धड़कन बढ़ा रहा था।

ख़ैर, ऊपर वाले की कृपा से हम CUET सेंटर पर 2:12 बजे पहुँच गए, और जब मेरी बेटी सेंटर के अंदर चली गई तब जा के जान में जान आई!

इस सारे घटनाक्रम के बीच मुझे मोदी जी की किताब “एग्जाम वॉरियर” की बड़ी याद आई।

इस किताब में मोदी जी ने बच्चों को टिप्स दिए हैं कि परीक्षा की तैयारी कैसे करें, परीक्षा के दौरान क्या करें, इत्यादि।

पर मोदी जी ने अपनी किताब में ये नहीं बताया, कि जब देश की दो प्रमुख परीक्षा लेने वाली संस्थाएं एक ही दिन में, मात्र चंद घंटों के अंतराल पर, शहर के दो अलग अलग छोर पर परीक्षा लें, तो उसकी तैयारी कैसे करें!!

जिस पैरेंट के पास ख़ुद का ट्रांसपोर्ट न हो, जिसे पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट के ज़रिए दोनों एग्जाम सेंटर पर पहुँचना हो, वो इस सिचुएशन से कैसे डील करे, ये भी मोदी जी ने अपनी किताब में नहीं बताया है!!

यही नहीं, सालों से देश में “डिजिटल इंडिया” की हवा चल रही है, इसी साल सरकार ने "AI" पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय कांफ्रेंस भी करा ली,

पर आवेदक बच्चों के डेटा के आधार पर, आपसी कोआर्डिनेशन के ज़रिए देश की दो राष्ट्रीय संस्थाएं बिना ओवरलैप के परीक्षा की तारीख तय कर सकें, क्या इतनी टेक्नोलॉजी देश में नहीं है?

IISER Aptitude Test यानि #IAT भारत सरकार की एक संस्था करवाती है, देश की 7 प्रीमियर साइंस रिसर्च संस्थाओं के UG कोर्स में दाखिले के लिए।

इसकी परीक्षा पहले से ही 7 जून निर्धारित थी।

इस बीच @NTA_Exams , जो कि भारत सरकार का ही उपक्रम है, उसने #CUET की परीक्षा जो कि 28 मई को होनी थी, उसे बदलकर 31 मई, 6 और 7 जून को कर दिया!

इन दोनों ही संस्थाओं के पास एप्लिकेंट छात्रों का सारा डेटा मौज़ूद है!

ऐसे में अगर भारत सरकार के ये दोनों “सूरमा” आपस में बात करके एक “ओवरलैप डिटेक्ट” करने का प्रोग्राम कंप्यूटर पर चला लेते, तो NTA को 5 मिनट में पता चल जाता कि किस बच्चे का टेस्ट 7 जून को नहीं कराना है!

ऐसे बच्चों की परीक्षा 31 मई या 6 जून वाले समूह के साथ हो सकती थी!

पर नहीं, इंडिया भले डिजिटल बन जाये, पर ये डिजिटल नहीं बनेंगे!

इन्हें तो बस देश भर के बच्चों और उनके पैरेंट्स को “एग्जाम वॉरियर” बनाना है!!

ख़ैर, और कुछ हो या न हो, मोदी जी को अब “एग्जाम वॉरियर” का अगला संस्करण जल्द निकालना चाहिए,

बहुत सारे "मुद्दे" इकट्ठा हो गए हैं, मोदी जी की "टिप्स" के लिए…

Madonna has always danced and dressed to shock. She has always pushed boundaries.

Then she got old.

Some men can’t handle Madonna continuing to Madonna whilst getting older. So they use words like “slutty” - to describe a fully clothed woman wearing a Dolce and Gabbana corset and tights.

What these men reveal is that they think a woman should make herself invisible as she ages. Because for these men - a woman being sexually attractive to THEM is what gives HER validity.

They will probably happily consume porn where the women are selected to appear to be underage and see nothing wrong with that because “she chooses to do it” and they can ignore the sexual exploitation of the women they participate in. They perceive “ownership” of these women the moment they click on their screens and these women must behave according to the rules men hold in their minds about women being hairless, wrinkle-free, submissive and sexually complaint.

These men do not measure themselves on the same scale or to the same standards as the women they judge. They can be obese, balding and in their fifties, masturbating to horrendous porn scenarios involving young girls gang raped - but a woman who has “crossed over” into a middle-age wilderness where they no longer wish to use her for their sexual fantasies should disappear from their view.

These men are afraid of older women. They hate them. They particularly hate the ones who insist on being seen. Because women getting older are a challenge to the porn set woman who the men feel they can scroll through, use and discard until the next time. By contrast a woman with wrinkles and aching joints is real - she might say no. She might say “fuck off and tidy yourself up you flatulent potato”.

These men believe that in real life they shouldn’t have to encounter an “ugly” female body with sagging skin and cellulite. They themselves may be balding, their arses are sagging and their bellies hang to their knees but they still believe they operate in an attractiveness economy where their dollars double in comparison to a woman of the same age. They can trade for a woman ten years younger.

So when a Madonna steps forward and carries on doing what she has always done it’s a bit annoying. She isn’t turning them on sexually so how dare she act in a sexual way?! They didn’t summon her and they can’t control her.

The fragility of these men is laughable. Madonna is clearly not fragile - she will perform as long as she can. She loves music and fashion. She’s doing what she thinks she can to maintain her brand. She has always been creative. I enjoyed watching her slightly unravel each day during Covid. She doesn’t know how NOT to be a performer.

I hope Madonna keeps running a little wild and unravelling into later life with abandon. It’s gloriously generous of her to get on stage and show us. She’s like a later life Mustang that men like these can’t throw a rope round. Good for her that she is.
