وجرى خلال الاتصال استعراض آخر المستجدات الإقليمية، وتبادل وجهات النظر بشأن الجهود المبذولة لدعم الحلول السياسية المستدامة والعادلة بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة. كما أكد الجانبان التزامهما بضمان حرية الملاحة البحرية وأمنها عبر مضيق هرمز وفقاً لمسؤولياتهما السيادية على مياههما الإقليمية وما يتوافق مع القانون الدولي ويحفظ مصالح جميع الأطراف الإقليمية والدولية.

تم خلال اللقاء مناقشة علاقات الصداقة والتفاهم بين سلطنة عمان والفاتيكان وجهود دعم الحوار بين الأديان والثقافات على أسس الاحترام والتسامح.

وأشاد معالي السيد وزير الخارجية بالمواقف والتصريحات الصادرة عن البابا لاون الرابع عشر الداعية إلى تحقيق العدالة والسلام ووقف الحروب ونبذ العنف، وتغليب الحوار والحلول السلمية، مؤكدًا أهمية هذه الدعوات في ترسيخ قيم السلام والتعايش، وتعزيز الجهود الدولية الرامية إلى تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار. ومن جانبه عبر سعادة سفير الفاتيكان عن تقدير قيادة الفاتيكان لسياسة السلام الحكيمة التي تنتهجها سلطنة عمان وثبات المبادئ التي تقوم عليها، ودورها في دعم الحوار واحتواء الأزمات والحدّ من تداعياتها، فضلًا عن جهودها الإنسانية ونهجها الحضاري في التعاطي مع مختلف التحديات ومعالجتها بما يخدم مصلحة الجميع.

حضر المقابلة سعادة السفير منذر بن محفوظ المنذري رئيس دائرة أوروبا، وعدد من المسؤولين من الجانبين.
