UPDATES:
Our team of facilitators is currently in Tamale in the Northern Region, continuing the data analysis and visualization training for MMDAs, CSOs and Journalists. This is expected to help them track the progress (or otherwise) Ghana is making in attaining the #SDGs.
A team of facilitators from @MobileWebGhana (@codeforghana) is travelling to all the regions in Ghana training journalists, CSOs & MMDAs in data analysis and visualization. This is expected to help them incorporate data analysis in reporting on the SDGs and also track progress.
Our team of facilitators in collaboration with @giz_ghana is in Kumasi today and tomorrow to train a number of journalists and members of staff of CSOs in data analysis and visualization.
The goal is to help them include data visualization in their reporting on the SDGs.
We are currently in Sunyani for the Brong Ahafo Region training sessions. The team is spending 2 days here training members of staff of MMDAs in data analysis and visualization using simple tools like MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Canva.
It has been great so far!
@giz_ghana @sdopoku@florencetoffa@nanabaahgyan@sdgdataghana@SDGActors@SchoolOfData The experience in the Ashanti Region was no different. We were introduced to a group of professionals (all being staff members of MMDAs) who had come to embrace the importance of using data analysis and visualizations like charts and infographics to report on the SDGs.
@giz_ghana @sdopoku@florencetoffa@nanabaahgyan@sdgdataghana@SDGActors@SchoolOfData The next region we visited was the Western Region and we had an awesome time there. The participants were always ready to learn. Since we left there, we have received news about how most of them are using their new skills in data analysis and visualization to write reports.
What have we been up to lately?
The team has been traveling the length and breadth of Ghana training MMDA's, CSOs and Journalists in Data Analysis and Visualization for better reporting on the SDGs. This initiative is sponsored by @giz_ghana
