AI help speedup experiments, fail-fast so to speak at fingertips.
I found that HTML and current "Web" is actually Chromium and everyone else is Chromium compatible out of FOMO.
HTML/CSS/web-engines is a big mess chasing ghosts because it is not possible to write a new engine by the spec and make it work - there is always something off - because there is no spec or standard + layers of 30 years of backward compatibility shit but forward looking with QUIC support.
There is no formula that fits it all. The more you try to fit it the more fat you have to carry around. In the end you end-up with Chromium everywhere.
Chromium plus the friction layers like Vue/React/Angular/any-recent-reincarnation are to the Web what Microsoft is the enterprise - the bloat and the gray-space from where to keep everyone hostage.
Electron/Tauri is a mistake. It's like going hunting rabbits with an F16. All that to show a 2KB local HTML page.
You can't replace Chromium.
Unless... you go direct.
so, to get commander in use I needed a delivery mechanism, a easy one
started on the delivery mechanism, to get it in good shape I needed a way for people to tell if something is authentic without Apple/Google/Microsoft Stores
https://t.co/orjCueCqsG is getting worked on
Linux - you are in charge, until supply-chain gets you over npm, pacman, deb or similar
Apple - you do everything apple wants and you pay for it, your data is sent out to Apple, MacBook is an extremely expensive Chromebook to run Google Chrome on and pretend you are a cool-barista or in charge with Claude, you are not, the stock-price all it counts
Google - you do everything you think you want based on curated content put in front of you, your data is sent out to Google and the quantum computer
Microsoft - you get called admin, because it looks cool in task manager's user session while your data gets sent out not only to Microsoft but its partners, as a user you don't control anything, as administrator you don't control anything, "administrator" account is for devops to run scripts remotely and pretend to be in charge
Amazon - will tell your neighbors what your birthday wish is based on Alexa hearing everything in your house, and will send shopping list emails to you based on what it compiled and ranked from discussions in your household for the last month - you are the OS, you are not in control of anything
The rebels with AI tools will be setting the fire, until it gets nerfed and ruled illegal because tinkering with time itself is not allowed
desktop UI frameworks are a problem: WPF is sluggish, Qt is hard to integrate, WinForms are dead, Win32 is dead, GTK is becoming a joke, KDE framework is marketing for Qt, Fyne is not there yet, Java based UIs are the 80s, Electron requires a full fledged browser to carry around, Tauri is better electron on Rust, Flutter is Google and their agenda, Xamarin is Microsoft and their agenda, Enlightenment/FLTK/TclTk/WxWidgets/XFCE did not cross the mass use line
this is a problem that needs to be solved
