π¨ GPT-6.2 Astra dropping today?
I'm expecting a serious jump in capabilities, and I really hope OpenAI delivers something powerful this time.
Can't wait any longer. Just release Astra 6.2 already!
π¨ OpenAI seems to be building up anticipation for Astra 6.2, with the model already being teased for its mathematical abilities and an upcoming release.
But honestly, coding is what I want to see.
Astra 6.2 needs to deliver exceptional coding performance without draining usage every few hours. If 4β6 $500 subscriptions can't sustain a full week of serious development, that's a problem.
I'm looking for a genuine Opus 5.5 competitor, not another benchmark champion.
If Astra can't deliver, I'll happily stick with Opus for the foreseeable future.
π¨ ChatGPT Plus users could soon get access to Dots.
OpenAI is expanding the lineup of models behind Dots, with GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Terra joining the mix.
This could explain why Terra was introduced in the first place: lower operating costs, faster responses, and a more natural personality.
Terra might be more important to OpenAI's agent strategy than people initially thought.
Fellow resetters, heads up that we're working on expanding the family of frontier models that power dots, including GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Terra and some others in the future. Terra brings speed and a nice personality upgrade, and will help us bring dots to more people.
π¨ OpenAI seems to be going all-in on improving the ChatGPT experience.
The team is reportedly working through a major bug-fixing sprint, with a strong focus on app stability, speed, and overall responsiveness.
Several employees are also engaging directly with users, gathering feedback and pushing fixes as quickly as possible.
We could see a wave of improvements rolling out over the next few weeks.
But here's an interesting thought: could all this preparation be connected to GPT-6.2 Astra?
Time will tell. π
π¨ The second banked reset is now available to ChatGPT users!
If you haven't used yours yet, I'd hold onto it.
GPT-6.2 Astra could be right around the corner, and you'll want plenty of usage ready when it drops.
Save those tokens.
π¨ Is GPT-6.2 Astra actually dropping today?
There are claims that some users have already been switched to the new version, but I'm still seeing the standard Astra on my Codex account.
It would be quite something if OpenAI brought engineers in on a Sunday for one final release to close out the 28-day challenge.
I'm not ruling it out, but a launch sometime in November feels more realistic.
π¨ GPT-6.2 Astra may already be undergoing early testing inside Codex.
Although the model selector still displays GPT-6 Astra, some users are spotting a separate "gpt-6.2-astra" entry in their usage analytics.
Multiple accounts are seeing the same label, which makes this particularly interesting.
Could OpenAI be quietly testing the next Astra before its official release?

π¨ OpenAI could be making ChatGPT Plus a much harder subscription to justify.
Starting in December, Plus, Pro, and Business users will have one shared usage allowance across ChatGPT and Codex.
Instant chat is supposed to remain free of usage charges, but the bigger concern is how much room will be left for everything else.
For Plus users, this could mean choosing between using ChatGPT and getting work done in Codex with the same limited allowance.
If OpenAI gets the balance wrong, Anthropic might gain a lot of frustrated customers.
I really hope they rethink this before December.
GPT-6.1 Astra could be the comeback OpenAI desperately needs.
When Opus 5.5 launched, it completely changed people's expectations of what a frontier model could do. OpenAI needs to deliver that same level of surprise.
Sol has been solid, but we're still waiting for that major leap in reasoning, creativity, and overall intelligence.
Now there's another reason to be optimistic: Pro users are getting 2x the usage.
Imagine having a model that can genuinely challenge Opus 5.5 without constantly worrying about hitting your limits.
That's what I want from Astra.
OpenAI has the opportunity. Now it's time to prove it.
π¨ Day 26 of Tibo's 28 Days of Shipping.
OpenAI is now giving users two banked resets, and the timing is getting interesting.
Why let everyone stack up extra usage unless something BIG is around the corner?
GPT-6.1 Astra is the obvious suspect.
Whatever OpenAI has planned, next week could get absolutely wild.
Day 26/ You can now easily switch between multiple accounts on mobile, and coming soon to desktop too. Next two days will be resetsβ¦ bankedβ¦ do with this what you may π.

π¨ GPT-6.1 Astra could be OpenAI's biggest surprise yet.
I have a feeling this model might deliver the same kind of shock Opus 5.5 did when it first arrived.
OpenAI has been missing that extra edge β the intelligence, creativity, and ability to produce genuinely impressive results.
But Astra might finally change that.
Maybe OpenAI has figured out what its previous models were missing.
Plus subscribers make up 86.2% of the paying user base, while Pro users represent roughly 1%.
Yet the biggest upgrades and new features seem to keep landing on Pro first.
Most people aren't going to pay $100β$200 per month just to get a better ChatGPT experience.
Plus is where the majority of paying users are. Give us stronger usage limits and access to Dots as well.
It's time the Plus plan got the attention it deserves.
π¨ OpenAI is slowly making the Plus subscription less attractive.
One of ChatGPT's strongest selling points has been having enough usage to get things done without constantly watching your limits.
But with ChatGPT and Codex expected to move to a shared usage pool in December, that advantage could disappear.
What's frustrating is that Plus users haven't received a meaningful increase in return.
You're asking people to share the same allowance across more products without giving them more room to use them.
OpenAI needs to hear the Plus community before this change rolls out.
π¨ChatGPT may be getting shared usage limits across ChatGPT and Codex
A hidden checkout notice points to ChatGPT and Codex moving to one shared usage pool starting in December.
That could mean your ChatGPT activity and Codex sessions will both eat into the same allowance, similar to Claude's system.
Unlimited Sol chat might be coming to an end.
Enjoy the separate limits while they last.
π¨ HUGE WIN FOR CODEX USERS!
OpenAI is doubling usage limits across the 100, 200, and 500 tiers.
I was literally planning to cancel tomorrow, but this changes everything. I'm keeping my subscription.
Credit to Tibo for listening to the community and responding with more usage instead of ignoring the backlash.
Now let's get Sol 6.2 and Astra 6.1 out the door.
Day 25/
We are doubling all usage limits for all Pro 100/200/500 tiers and Business Premium, effective today.
We heard your kind feedback and wonβt be reducing usage limits for Pro 200, so your Work and Codex usage will stay the same. Weβre also going to continue offering extended limits for dots for now, and usage of your dot will still continue to be separate from your default usage.
And we'll of course also keep shipping better models and other efficiency improvements that increase your effective usage over time.
π¨ OpenAI could be gearing up for some BIG moves today and tomorrow.
With Gemini 4 Carbon potentially dropping soon, Google could put serious pressure on Sol 6.1 and Astra 6.
OpenAI needs to be in full alert mode with Astra 6.1 and Sol 6.2 still waiting in the wings.
GPT Image 2.6 teasers are interesting, but a new frontier model is what OpenAI really needs to make its 28 days of shipping count.
It's time to deliver.
π¨Codex Users!!!
Codex limits are getting cut in half tomorrow,
and I genuinely don't understand the logic behind paying $200 for a 10x OpenAI plan.
Astra 6 and Sol 6.1 just don't justify that price for power users.
Who thought this was a good move? Because Anthropic looks like the biggest winner here.
Opus 5.5 is becoming the only serious option for people paying $200 for a 20x plan.
And as more power users move to Claude Code, Anthropic gets more usage, more feedback, and more real-world coding data to improve its next models.
OpenAI might be handing its biggest advantage to its competitor.
π¨ ChatGPT + Work merged, but usage limits seem unchanged.
GPT-6 Sol chat stays unlimited. Switch to other models, and your quota starts draining.
Same limits, new interface.
π¨ Fable 5.5 spotted on FrontierCode 2.0?
A hidden model called βObsidian 3β scored 46.8%, beating Opus 5.5 at 45.5%.
It runs through the Claude Code harness, pointing toward a possible Anthropic model.
My bets: Fable 5.5 or Opus 5.6.
