This is going to make me sound like a crazy person but if there IS another heatwave right after this one when do we start demanding the government treat it like an emergency
🚨 BREAKING: Rough sleeping will be decriminalised tomorrow as the Government repeals the 1824 Vagrancy Act
It means police won’t be able to move on homeless people sleeping or begging on the streets
Even if you don’t live in NYC, please retweet this and get the word out so that the ppl in YOUR city also learn that they too can have politicians who get things done if they mobilize and vote socialist in other elections! 🗣️
being trans with executive dysfunction is lowkey a nightmare because "oh i should really do this thing that's supposed to save my life and make me happy that i've been putting off for so long but i'm not going to do it"
This is your friendly reminder that data centres don’t actually need water. They need a cooling system and are using water because it’s the cheapest way to do it.
Seeing as our PM just resigned I’ll give you my thoughts as a leftie. Starmer spent his entire fucking time trying to suck off the right who think he’s a a Commie so we’re never going to vote for him anyway.
He increased not reduced the cost of living and did fuck all about it. Letting the energy company’s fuck us even more.
He criminalised protesting , went through with a Tory bill that censored our internet and wants to do worse still online with his legacy.
His allies made it increasingly harder to be LGBT in this country and set back rights here significantly, especially for trans people.
And he’s a cunt.
People are missing the rather amusing detail that when Starmer resigns, Larry, the "Chief Mouser," will have served under EIGHT different prime ministers in fifteen years.
Bills up.
Wages too low.
Record profits for Oil & Gas.
50 richest families with more wealth than 50% of population.
Shit in our rivers.
Pensioners jailed for protesting.
Migrants thrown under the bus.
Supporting a Genocide.
That's Starmer's legacy.
Keir Starmer could have ended child poverty, homelessness and the grotesque levels of inequality in this country.
Instead, he abandoned those in need, destroyed our civil liberties and facilitated genocide in Gaza.
That is how this Prime Minister will be remembered - and that is the legacy of moral and political bankruptcy he leaves behind.
The crises in our society are not going away. Neither are we - and we will keep fighting for a more equal, peaceful and dignified society for all.
