Is it time to legislate; if a change of leader is forced by its own Party then a General Election must be called.
That would stop the constant churn and focus all politicians on delivery, instead of work place politics. These endless ‘house of cards’ games would end and the country would benefit.
Let’s legislate to focus minds.
This is a great point by Mike Tapp.
If Andy Burnham becomes Labour leader and then Prime Minister without a general election, millions of British voters won't have voted for him, or even know who he is.
That's not how democracy should work.
A change of Prime Minister through an internal party coup should automatically trigger a General Election.
I support this proposal because some of the people who became UK prime ministers at @10DowningStreet cannot win a general election on their own.
The UK is in a state of malaise, and things are getting worse. A country that has changed its Prime Minister 5 times in 7 years can’t be taken seriously.

Nedum Onuoha explains why he rejected Nigeria’s invitation and why he now regrets never representing a country at senior level.
All Reform does is lie, lie, and lie again.
International students do not have access to student loans, despite paying far more than home students in tuition fees.
They pay their own fees, pay visa fees, pay NHS surcharge, work restricted hours, and still get used as a political punching bag.
“During Murtala’s regime, we gave Angola $20 Million which was N12 Million. Nigerian Airways helped them have access to the outside world. We did the same with South Africa.”- Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo
In the United Kingdom, Millie Taplin was offered a drink by a stranger while heading to a nightclub for the first time on her 18th birthday.
The stranger handed her a cocktail, saying, “Vodka lemonade, try this.”
Millie took a sip.
Within seconds, her face went numb, her fingers clenched in a grotesque spasm, and her entire body stiffened as if locked in place.
She was fully conscious but her body wouldn’t move; trapped inside, she writhed in agony, her mind screaming in realization that she couldn’t budge.
When she was rushed to the hospital, doctors said she had likely been given two unidentified substances: one to paralyze, the other to knock her out. Tests failed to identify the substances.
Her mother later shared this as a warning: “Never accept a drink from a stranger.”
BEFORE YOU RELOCATE TO THE UK.
If you have a good job or a thriving business in Nigeria and you are well established, think twice before leaving everything to relocate to the UK.
Many men sponsored their wives and children to the UK and financially supported them. The wife or the children puts pressure on them to join them in the UK. They start having issues, and the wife sets the man up, turns the children against him, and calls the police or the social services on him. He is kicked out of the house, not allowed to see the children, and cannot return to Nigeria, having lost everything. I have dealt with hundreds of cases like this.
My advice is that you should think twice before relocating your family to the UK, and if you must do that, think twice before joining them in the UK, and think thrice before selling everything you have in Nigeria to do that. You must have a Plan B and a shock absorber. You must be sure your wife has not changed. She o ti gbo (I hope you heard me).
