If you know exactly what you want, and what it's currently selling for in the local market, you can skip the games. You just have to make it clear you're a serious buyer ready to sign paperwork that day. Dealers won't give you a quote over the phone if they think you're shopping around.

I did my last auto deal over text. I did two things to prepare:

1. Watch a lot of Delivrd on YouTube to familiarize myself with the dealer playbook and how to break out of it.
