Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH)
LCH is a class I histiocytosis characterized by accumulation of Langerhans-phenotype cells in skin and other organs. Prognosis depends on disease extent and is excellent in isolated cutaneous involvement.
Treatment: Topical nitrogen mustard was applied daily to the scalp for one month, resulting in complete resolution. Staging studies showed no systemic involvement, consistent with single-organ disease.
