Presidents, prime ministers, even the Pope still use X. But Labour ministers seek to stigmatise it, presumably as a prelude to prohibition. Our government is terrified of a medium that destroys the MSM monopoly on information, and puts it - often messily - into the hands of all.
I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.
Tell your ‘friend’ to come and speak to me.
I’m British and of Indian ancestry.
And I’m proud to be a Reform Member of Parliament.
Reform is for anyone who loves this country and wants to save it from idiots like you.
If Burnham wants to work in Manchester and perpetuate 'Manchesterism' (whatever the hell that is) he shouldn't have quit as Manchester Mayor
This insipid t-shirt wearing, Working from Home, vapid, emoji-propaganda politics is symbolic of a failed democracy and failed media, in the joke nation we have become
Andy Burnham says he wants to ‘rewire Britain’. But who gave him a mandate to do that? He was elected by the people of Makerfield not the people of the UK. Overhauling the country without the consent of the people is an outrage, says Brendan O’Neill

Burnham is annoying me already. If you want to be Prime Minister, dress like it. Take off the T shirt, put on a suit and tie, and show some respect for the office you seek.
This may seem trivial, but it all contributes to the symbolic decline of our country. Uniforms and dress codes exist for a reason. Judges wear robes, soldiers wear uniforms, police officers wear distinctive attire, and professionals in countless fields dress in a way that reflects the seriousness of their responsibilities.
Such conventions signal authority, discipline and respect for the institutions they represent. When those seeking the highest offices discard these standards, they chip away at the dignity of public life itself.
Britain does not need more informality in its leadership. It needs a renewed sense of purpose, seriousness and pride in its institutions.
@CptHastings1916 It’s the shrug and “oh, come on!” response we all get in conversations with middle class liberals when we say something faintly populist.
The hypocrisy of the left is now out in the open for ALL to see.
Nearly all those Labour MPs demanded a General Election when the Tories changed leader.
They suddenly believe differently now that they are in power.
THIS IS BRITISH POLITICS… AND IT IS FULL OF LIARS & SNAKES.
Watching KS speech back again on News. Beggars belief but he actually says, "I inherited a Party that was morally bankrupt". Seconds later, "..standing up for decency, respect, and the rule of law...". Yet he packed the Lords with his mates, took the freebies and chose Mandelson.
Keir Starmer is the worst PM we’ve ever had. He posed as Mr Competent but he was staggeringly inept. He was all about ‘human rights’ yet he waged war on trial by jury and freedom of speech. Good riddance to his tyranny of greyness, says Brendan O’Neill

I sense that political obituarists are preparing to run with the line that @Keir_Starmer was a decent fellow, but ill-suited to politics. Honest but naïve.
Well, have a look at this and then try to tell me he was honest. The signs were there from the start.
I find the BBC opting for ‘Türkiye’ over ‘Turkey’ to be very odd. Should the French say ‘London’ instead of ‘Londres’? Should we pronounce ‘Russia’ as ‘Rah-see-ya’?
Exonyms are a normal part of language.
I think one of the reasons why I am struggling to get behind @RestoreBritain is because I feel like the party is being led by children.
It’s literally people my age and younger.
I am a BIG advocate of having mentorship and guidance from people who are your Senior.
If not senior then people with a minimum of 5 years of experience. I think that’s why we are seeing so much disorganisation and sloppy mistakes.
But it’s still a young party, so there is still room for growth x
