Love what Mike McCarthy said post game yesterday. “If it’s not clean on offense you cut the volume down.” Too many plays can make it more challenging to execute them. Rich Rod also had a great quote related to this. “It’s not what you call, it’s what you can execute.”
I have so much respect for high school football coaches. It’s a sport that requires significant amount of time meeting and watching film. When you work a 9-5 all of that comes at the sacrifice of time with family and friends.
Then they go out and have 1 shot a week to get it right. The whole town is there. They all have something to say when it’s not going well.
The glory is great, but the stress and work has to be hard.
Sometimes the biggest challenge an offense faces is themselves. Mistakes will keep you from being successful on offense. Bad snaps, penalties, drops, bad reads, etc. It’s a reminder why it’s important not to add much during the season. Get out of your own way & fix the mistakes.
Elite competitors want to continuously improve - find others who want to win as bad as you do, who will compete on every rep (film, practice, game), who refuse to settle for just being good & that’s when real magic can happen.
@DillonCaster@jaredlf777@TDxsandos Depending on where the pressure comes from you could possibly replace where the pressure comes from with either of the routes from the shallow or arrow. QBs check it down all the time.
