Why is my twitter feed filled with so many people I don’t follow? Just because I follow people who follow someone doesn’t mean I want their stuff in my feed. 😭
A quick PSA about psa:
Penal substitutionary atonement (the theory that God killed Jesus on the cross to appease his wrath against humanity) is about 500 years old in origin, 200 in popular belief, and still widely discredited outside of white American evangelicalism.
When people tell me that the universe loves them, I encourage them to interrogate that thought or feeling. I encourage them to be realists. It might also be worth screening a little Cuarón.
@TaylorLoy Here in twitter! Several places actually. Promise keepers guy (apparently that’s a thing) and from some guy who wrote a book titled “the case for Christian nationalism” …soooo 😂
@TaylorLoy I agree with you! Though I don’t know why I worded that tweet so weird. Lol
I meant it’s interesting that the camp that says “there’s still gifts” see/use them. While cessationists say there’s no gifts because they’ve never seen it in their ranks.
@Malchus_III @_nomadic_soul Good question! Perhaps it would be someone troll tweeting from an anonymous account that has a spartan as their profile picture?
@finnishjulie @Karmin_G @PastorTrey05 I think what he said to the thief was more meant to the effect of “to know me, even while on a cross, is to be in paradise” the church fathers decided what books made it into the Bible using the creed, so to try and use scripture to validate the creeds feels kinda reverse.
@PastorTrey05@ToriGlass I don’t think I’ve met a family from my rural hometown that doesn’t claim to have Native American blood, usually claiming relationship to Pocahontas. I think it makes them feel better?
