@OpenChiswickW4@JohnJohnStewart@SocEnvJustice as well as coming out against Net Zero policies (cancelling all of those is how he's suggested funding public transport).
Someone really needs to study the online radicalisation of old white men. They're the ones who need media literacy training more than the kids.
@OpenChiswickW4@JohnJohnStewart@SocEnvJustice Maybe he's always been that slightly unusual thing - a right wing campaigner on environmental (or at least environmental adjacent) issues - but watching his slide from 'find the Guardian a bit extreme these days' to retweeting GBNews and posts about reform has been eye opening...
@Qagggy Enfield and others have done noise studies.
Positive impact within ltns because traffic fall significant. No impact on boundary where, traffic volumes don’t materially change up or down as a %age.
Enfield did noise studies for their LTNs and found just that- no negative impacts.

That will be why the EU noise expert group recommended car free/restricted access zones.
@Qagggy He can’t help himself. He knows LtNs, even in the minority of boundary roads ehich do see an increase in traffic, have no impact on noise levels because a very significant change in traffic volume is needed to alter noise levels.
And another “manifesto” in an oddly familiar format by John Stewart, this time trading as the UkNoiseAssocuation
Which is anti LTN despite 6&7 clearly making the point that they reduce noise over a wide area for a large population while having no negative noise impact on boundary
Shared space with buses is not cycle infra. It's marginally better than nothing and lets people cycling safely bypass queues of other vehicles. But people on bikes sharing space with 12 ton buses is neither safe nor inclusive and even wide bus lanes do not allow safe passes.
@JoshuaGarfield It has very little footprint. Claims to have been around since 2000. Was a charity for a few years but only ever turned over £300. It has no membership.
This Ltd company appears unrelated
There are 4 names on their website but only one of them appears to do anything.
Its official: I’m appearing in City of London Magistrates tomorrow for the heinous ‘offence’ of cycling no-handed.
I guess in some ways it must be good news, as it means @CityPolice must have solved all the robberies, burglaries, fraud, assault, bike theft, dangerous driving and other serious offences. If not, I’m not sure how they could justify spending lots of taxpayers money, days of officer time, and a day of time in our horrendously backlogged courts, prosecuting something which does not appear illegal, which thousands of cyclists do without issue every day and which has not caused harm to anyone else or myself.
Wish me luck! I’ll report back.
Traffic evaporation - the "seminal study" says it only happens in specific circumstances
What are they then? Oh - when network capacity is actually reduced and there isn't spare capacity elsewhere.
Charlatan.
Yes, the correct approach to these 'modern day full kit cyclists' riding considerately on the pavement alongside busy A10, which has no safe space for cycling, is to block their way and shout at them.
Attached: Police guidance on enforcing against pavement cycling.

Once again can only conclude these people are idiots.
Lime launched in London in 2022 and have use has been growing massively year on year so even this 10% of all journey stages figure is likely understated.
These people are either thick or think their followers are.
The TfL data appears to show risk *per trip* - accounting for the increase in cycling - lowest since 2010 (ever?)
KSI risk slightly up, but increase in dangerous driving would seem likely cause(see other data point)
