📢US history and AP US history teachers📢
A great program on teaching the #ColdWar in the 1960s using competing Soviet and US narratives.
The program includes primary source documents ideal also for #APHistory#teachers#sschat#highschool#histedchat
In the early 1960s, relations between the US and the Soviet Union continued to deteriorate. With many confrontations that brought both superpowers to the brink of war. This new student program explores both American and Soviet narratives.

The band had the honour of leading the Davidson’s Mains Armistice Parade along Main Street on Sunday, Pipe Sergeant Izzy Webster played a beautiful lament as the wreaths were laid. This was a first for the band, a tradition we hope to continue for years to come. @Royal_High_Sch
The mood in liberated Kherson:
“We have heating, no electricity, no water, no mobile or internet connection, but NO RUSSIANS! I am extremely happy because now we are free.”
Mobility and transport also relate to health, climate, justice, ecosystems, and more! Thanks @zaragoza_es 🇪🇸 for co-hosting with @IURC_Programme the Sustainable Urban Mobility & Transport Event, and to those from 13 cities 🇪🇺🇺🇸🇨🇦 who shared their expertise and challenges! #IURCNA
Very sobering analysis here - just saw this guy on Sky News live comparing the implications of Russian defeat in Crimea (1850s), vs Japan in 1904/5, in WWI to the change in Russia after.
While Putin is hell-bent on restoring "big, historic Russia", the West should offer a clear path for political asylum for POWs, draft dodgers, and war opponents, accelerate arms supply to Ukraine, and boost energy security for Europe. My latest @thehill https://t.co/lFpJn2zoop
@ceuttss K12 Education at Virginia Tech is partnering with this European education group to roll out some of their innovative work for US teachers and students. @VikiMalcolm@vasocialstudies

@ceuttss@vasocialstudies Proud that our Transatlantic Scholars teachers and students in County Mayo, Ireland and Virginia Beach, Virginia got to Zoom last week with the EU Delegation in Washington DC. The EU Delegation loved it too! @CbsCastle@OceanLakesHS
We love visiting and speaking with students at all levels. Not only do we get to share the work we're doing to strengthen the transatlantic relationship, we get to learn from THEM all the bright ideas and plans they have for making the world a better place.
Can you believe we haven't hosted #EUOpenHouse in 3 years?! Thankfully, we are back for 2022 with your favorite EU embassies opening their doors across Washington. What does that look like? Watch below and visit https://t.co/SfeS4LPurG for more information. 🇪🇺 🤩
