Just merged "metric.h" into the @collectd 6 branch, providing "metric_t" and "metric_family_t". These data structures are the foundation of the ongoing metric label work.

I've spent some time over the last few weeks implementing #OpenMetrics in #collectd. This allows to add an arbitrary number of labels to a metric, instead of the previous host/plugin/type tuple. The picture shows labelled CPU metrics in the Cloud Monitoring metrics explorer.
I merged support for meta data into the #collectd#golang packages this morning. This includes support in the JSON format, the "native" plugins (.so files), and limited support in "exec" plugins.

TIL: the "collectd-plugin" crate allows to write @collectd plugins in @rustlang, then compile into a shared object and execute "natively". Thanks to Nick Babcock this project!

With collectd graphing, converting data is MUCH easier.

One of the action items from the #collectd meetup was to organize the repository better. https://t.co/qNr4RtfqRR is the first step in that direction, moving 82 files.
@noggin143 @matrunge I can confirm no injuries reported :) #collectd meetup day 2 started on schedule, even with a great surprise: Collectd T-shirts! Big thanks to @flocto
The collectd contributor meetup is off to a good start. So far we discussed improving the release process, encouraging more contributors to do code reviews, and the next generation of our continuous integration setup. Thanks to @camptocamp, @Intel and @RedHat for sponsoring us!
