@chriswithans Republican voters do vote for these people. It’s independents that Republican candidates are losing to their Democratic counterparts in these races.
@instrumenthull Would be curious how post-PhD placements would change, if at all, if the top ~20 universities had some unified minimum requirements and then randomized admissions
@mmcodd@RSthePit@PeeWeeSmith1973@alaynatreene Doesn’t it then seem reasonably likely that they’ll at the very least pass carveouts if there’s something they want to pass that would require one?
@BlackMambuh789@kylegriffin1 Just in case this helps to reduce the conflict a little, people are suggesting that the Roe decision will make suburban women shift Democrat in the coming years, while the article you linked is saying that more people switched to be Republican over the /past/ year
@Prog_Indy @mainulmizan@PhinsTweets2@AOC Is your implication that the filibuster leads to more debate? Do you believe debate happens currently with the filibuster in place?

@galendruke@NateSilver538 What would it take for Democrats to avoid a bad midterm in 2022? Even in the abstract, beyond just 2022, is there anything a party in power can do to avoid a bad midterm?
@erinnthered@calloweeen Using the very real danger to marginalized communities to antagonistically minimize the also very real danger to women is just an incredibly wild thing to choose to do.
@JakeLindsay99@Ebzzzzzz @That_Girl_Nova @greasybishh @drivingmemadi I would encourage you to look beyond your own experience with this in forming your opinion, or at least adding nuance to it. I understand that may have been the case for you, but for very many, medicine has been incredibly helpful.
@frantasy72 @aubreyhirsch I mean, it feels like the statement was intended to point out a trend that was not ideal, not make some claim that something was true in literally 100% of cases (which feels like you probably don’t need to caveat on that since it’s obvious enough in the first place)
