In light of the @USGA presser today. I wanna know if anyone has actually been playing long enough or payed attention when they changed the grooves on the wedges. There was HUGE uproar when that happened. Where are all of you at now? Playing the SM10s not the OG Vokey Spin Milled wedges from the early 2000s. They made that change for everyone. The ball will be the exact same. Please God shut up about the roll back. This change keeps all of you complaining who play on Saturday morning from 6500 yards playing those same tees for another 20 years. Or would you rather all those golf courses buy more land making your greens fees go up and price people out of the game? Or worse those courses just shut down because they can’t host tournaments. I’m baffled by so many peoples short sidedness on this. No one will care about this change in 10 years. What you will have is that same public golf course you play every Saturday still playable from 6500 yards.
@lordoftheMajorz@MidwestGolfJake@KslngFmlyJrny Excellent analysis as usual. I think it truly depends on how you measure greatness and what the criteria is for that. I value dominance very highly and Tiger is definitely the most “dominant” golfer of all time. I think it’s a great debate at the end of the day.
Hey LIV golf fans, we know the OWGR is not reflecting the best players in the world. I think everyone knows that. Can we change the narrative to making LIV events a format in which they can get OWGR points instead of the OWGR making a whole new system? Would that not be easier?
@JustenOslund7 I think people always assumed the decision was made by the governing body because Tiger played in the final group so many times, but it was because he was usually in the lead lol
@JustenOslund7 Pavon finished first at the same score. Whoever is first in the clubhouse gets the later tee time.
However, Cantlay and Rory realllly don’t like each other stemming back to the Ryder Cup incident last year so there’s def some tension in that group too.
@col_mrice You going to write a story about the 10+ years of Mountain View dominance? There’s gotta be at least 10+ of us that played college golf too.
For the first time in school history, Mount View boys golf is the state champion. The Thunder win the 3A boys title by one stroke over Roosevelt.
Alexander Rigby tied for 8th. Grady Millar and Spencer Moody were one shot back tied for 13th.
