In the middle of iReady testing one of my 6th graders audibly gasped. I asked if he was okay. His response, “remember my iReady goal was 600? I get 620 and I’m so excited!”

I’m so glad I made them set goals! 💪

Connection makes correction less necessary. We know how we feel when someone sees our struggle and wants to be present or help. Kids need the same. Set a goal to make 5-10 positive comments per class. The return on investment is immeasurable.
