@BrianGarrigan Perhaps the Irish people in question did not own the land in question and it was being repossessed by the financial institution which gave them the loan? That way, other Irish people, namely the shareholders of said institution, will be repaid their money by the defaulter?

@Venus230 @Gitmo99 Eh, on her father? Eh, yes that very much is a crime. It's called kidnapping. As it crosses state lines, it's a federal offence and thus life in prison is the maximum sentence. As she is the mother, she got two years. If the father did the same, he would have got 20 or 30 years.
