Mr. Collin Mugasha encouraged students to maximize internships, volunteering, and practical exposure, emphasizing that classroom knowledge alone is not enough in today’s competitive world.
“Do not rush for money. Invest in practical experience, knowledge, and skills. Sometimes volunteering and learning will take you much further than chasing quick income.” Mr. Collin Mugasha Babirukamu

After a meeting between Governor Atingi-Ego and His Excellency William Popp, Ambassador of the U.S. to Uganda to discuss potential collaboration opportunities, a delegation from @USEmbassyUganda today met with Collin Babirukamu @colmug, BoU's Excutive Director Information Technology and members of our Technology Directorate to discuss how the Bank is prepared to shift towards Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The delegation included AI expert, Vivek Mohindra, who has experience in public and private sectors harmonizing AI policies. .@colmug, ED IT @BOU_Official, on CIO Priorities:
One of the biggest priorities for the modern CIO is bridging the gap between deep technical knowledge and effective communication. You can go as deep into a topic as you want, but if you cannot communicate the "why" and the "how" to a non-technical audience, your impact will be limited.

For over two decades as a business reporter, the @BOU_Official website (https://t.co/8W1odYwALX) has been one of the most important tools in my trade.
If you cover the economy, financial services, or increasingly fintech, you simply cannot do your job without it. It’s one of the most consistently updated and reliable sources of economic and financial data in Uganda—often the first place you go when you need to verify a number, strengthen a story, or even settle a debate.
And now, it just got better with a whole new redesign.
The redesigned platform makes it easier to navigate, search, and interact with data. Key information is more accessible, discovery is faster, and the overall experience reflects the demands of a real-time, data-driven digital era.
This is what a modern central bank’s digital presence should look like—open, responsive, and built for users.
Kudos to the Bank of Uganda team for not just opening, but significantly enhancing their digital front door.
If you haven’t explored the new site yet, this is your cue.
