@KingKnightEd well, the vast majority of the USYNT pool is MLS Academy players. Not saying there is anything wrong with that if that is where the best US youth players are playing. I remember seeing something recently where there wasn't any ECNL boys on the USYNT pool.
@BeauIgor@IHateSoccerPod I'm hearing almost nobody is on a full ride COA in Msoc, american or international. Most players are paying some amount out-of-pocket to that prospective university, obv outside of football & men's bball
@Don_K_Williams All very true points , but for a kid that doesn't come from any money and is paying for college by myself...that's a pretty steep ask....
S/O to the families who have the money/support system to make that happen....have understanding for those that don't (not u, but in general

I think many soccer players/parents think of "soccer scholarship" = "full ride" like in football and basketball....
Even the MLS Next/ECNL kids that are indeed going D1 .... are not on anywhere near full-rides
You have to be able to pay....
@CollegeSoccer10 Yes we are continuing to put more data together on this, but yes, INT'Ls + Transfers typically play, while the 18yo American players are on the roster but most don't play much , at most programs. Small few D1 men's programs aren't like that but , most are
@aehal1 Yes I heard that is happening , but honestly didn't believe it as to me that doesn't make sense to give 28 full rides to a sport that loses money .....unless you have ridiculous football/bball money funding it ....idk but either way this is GOOD THING for WSOC !!
