I’ve been reading about the Industrial Revolution and the mass utilization of coal for energy. It seems that when this technology came around, so did a whole new basket of problems for the common man. New technology then meant new diseases that weren’t understood, caused by the coal dust. It meant new kinds of danger for which there was no cultural conscience of.
