@BOXINGnBBQ Everyone always focuses on the knockouts, but very few pay attention to what happened beforehand. How did the punch land? What defensive mistake allowed it to happen?
All of these are essential for building a well-rounded fighter. That said, being able to see and correct your technique in real time is a huge advantage. That's why we created the world's first punchable mirror.
@Fightflix_ Keeping those hands up and moving that head off the line! Perfect way to set up that counter. What do you think is the best way to practice defensive technique like that?
@combatsporrt Very tough question, both fought some great opponents but I would have to go with Floyd. His defence was on another level and perfectly showcased just how important strong defensive fundamentals are in boxing.
@PureStrikingHQ Great shot selection by Canelo. Excited to see him return to the ring later this year, do you think he's made the changes necessary to build his way back to the top?
@BoxingKingdom14 Looking sharp! It's incredible to see those fundamentals so deeply ingrained in his technique. Bud is the perfect example of why building strong defensive habits is essential in boxing.
@coachcarrboxing Exactly. Social media always highlights the knockout power, speed and volume of a Boxer but their defence is often overlooked. I believe defence is the most important part of training. What do you think?
@DAZNBoxing@KingRyan@ringmagazine His hand speed is looking great! But has he worked on his defence? We all know how important good defence is in Boxing, and Ryan has been known to drop his right hand when throwing that hook. Will that be an issue in this fight?
@Gozman702 Exactly. Defence is one of the most important skills a boxer can develop. You can throw thousands of punches throughout your career, but your brain can only absorb so many.
@RingPhantomx Mayweather is the perfect example of why developing strong defensive habits is so important in boxing. Yes, power and speed are great, but it doesn't compare to a strong defence.
Bud's performance against Canelo is a perfect reminder of why solid defensive fundamentals are so important in boxing. What do you do to sharpen your defence?
@premierboxing Great stoppage! It's not the knockout itself that's the most worrying, it's the hundreds of punches landed throughout the fight that cause the most damage.
