People don't care whether your product or service uses AI.

Saying you use AI is like a chef saying they use salt.

It doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean your dish tastes better than whatever the alternative is.

Using more salt doesn't make your dish superior. Same goes for AI.

Stop obsessing just because the crowd is.

On the flipside, the dynamic island also seemed like a gimmick when it was introduced but turned out to be a very useful feature in iOS (and copied by Chinese Android phonemakers).

There's Apple's *output* and Apple's *methodologies & culture*.

Most companies copy former, not the latter because it's easier.

Samsung has created an entire section of their business based on copying Apple's output and they're pretty good at it.

It's a shortcut to the finish line, but Apple will always get there first.

Like mobile phones. We used to get billed on minutes used, eventually that went away.

We’re getting to a point where Apple Silicon will be able to do a lot of stuff locally very soon.

Maybe local models will offset the token counting.

It’s over. I’m quitting design.

A client of mine just created a logo with Fable 5, and the result left me speechless.

It understood the brand story, values, audience, strategy, and turned all of it into a smart, minimal symbol. A genuinely brilliant concept. The kind of idea that captures everything at once. Something I honestly don’t think I would have come up with myself.

And it didn’t just nail the idea. It executed the design pixel-perfectly.

So I raise the white flag.

My skepticism about AI’s ability to do great design is officially gone.

There, I said it:

AI beat me at design.

Now that AI finally took my job, I can peacefully quit and dedicate my life to studying the only thing it may never achieve: human consciousness and the pathways to God.
