pondering an almost 2D Soulcalibur approach with a SamSho feeling of weight. grounded, with plenty of command normals, but no input specials. maybe one dude gets stances, another some serious movement options, blah blah. would there be a place for such a thing to stand out?
so, #gamedev blah blah. brainstormed a 2D Bushido Blade-like ages ago, but did nothing with it. entered acrive dev before covid interrupted absolutely everything, then left it alone. some quality games of that kind have released since. recently reinvigorated, but (cont'd)
instead, an actual (small) health pool? multiple lights do the job, but a solid heavy kills in one? heavies can be FADC'd to negate big commitments? dashes and rolls, still no jumping? repel/parry, maybe SamSho issen? minimalist UI, but display damage via posing (like burnout)?
