@MetsGirl333@MetsJoe22 I love Nimmo but you're right that it was a bad deal that won't age well. What are his plus skills? His best skill was getting on base but that number went down year after year. Bad arm, so so power, so so average. Great guy but that doesn't win games.
@MetsJoe22 Instead of a second baseman hitting .211 with 14 homers your rather have a second baseman hitting . 216 with 17 homers. Yeah, sounds like a great upgrade. π
@PSLToFlushing The fans commenting are the same ones who wanted Ewing to play second base. He's going to play every day and can handle left field. He'll be in center next year. Don't worry.
@MetCastPod Were you against the Manaea extension at the time? Were you against the Peralta trade at the time? There is a lot of revisionist history going on now, and a lot of it is unfair.
@SleeperMets Nobody was opposed to the trade at the time. They had a lot if young pitching and traded some of that depth. Williams looked good but is not doing well in the minors.
@metsbatflip1 Nobody thought Alonso would be bad this year. If he wanted a one year contract he's still be a Met. Only one team offered him five years. What does that tell you? It's time to move on.
@MetsGirl333 Nobody who knows anything what's to trade him. There's no possible way to get the right value back for him so any discussion about trading him was just rage bait.
@InMetsWeTrust Letting Alonso go wasn't about this year. It was about what he would be in the last two or three years of the five year deal. I loved him but he's gone and Mets fans need to get over it.
