Love to see it! Wish we would find a better way to study meditation other than using monks though - not because it's invalid (they controlled & matched variables with population living nearby), but because people dismiss it because monks are unrelatable... https://t.co/fPAWHQogSI
10 global health insights that aim to reframe how we're thinking about health at the macro level (@McKinsey) - I think the UK media also exacerbates this 'health matrix' effect, with careless flip-flop reporting on #healthresearch

"Gen Z respondents report alarming levels of negativity about themselves, their confidence in the future, and their ability to find contentment in American life" https://t.co/q7kaylVkmn
Thrilled to be a finalist in TWO categories for the @TweetMRS Awards: "Mind Gaming", a report & campaign about gaming & mental wellbeing with @mentalhealth has been nominated for Public Policy / Social Research & @TweetMRSpride Inclusive Research Design!⭐️ https://t.co/OkNizrrcqg
A lot of hate and intolerance in the world stems from the belief that it’s everyone else’s job not to make us feel uncomfortable, rather than it being our job to understand and manage our own discomfort.
Let people exist.
https://t.co/PFudahHfVR Super interesting interviews with people who don't have an inner monologue/dialogue! What peace... or is it? #reflexivity#chatter (thanks @emmagannon via the Hyphen substack 🙌)
@menka Brilliant newsletter edition, I felt calmer just reading it thank you, so many great links and ideas to ponder. The fuji montage is thought-provoking (I'd never even noticed it in the most famous Hokusai painting!) + I've bookmarked the impatience talk for later
No. 2 - don't turn away from or avoid negative feelings, this is not an effective long-term coping mechanism (I saw this a lot in the study I did on gaming and mental wellbeing) #scienceofwellbeing#mentalhealth https://t.co/cQ8FX5v9Ks
Daydreaming is good for you, and more enjoyable than people anticipate - "losing yourself in your thoughts can aid problem-solving, increase creativity, enhance the imagination and contribute to a sense of self-worth" https://t.co/wW3fXBhShB
@heykahn Would also add 'creativity' - not limited to art, but creative skills that include creative problem solving etc. Because this is a uniquely human skill that can be learned by humans, but harder for A.I to fully replicate #futureofwork
This... but add mindfulness and 'reflexivity' - aka: socially-oriented self-reflection. It's the ability to step outside of your own singular perspective to reflect, with a birds-eye view, on the role you can play within the bigger picture #softskillsrevolution#attentioneconomy
"Full spectrum thinking" (and resisting the simplicity of certainty) is a key meta-skill for navigating the future of work nice explanation here by Bob Johansen @iftf#futureofwork#leadership#wellbeing https://t.co/2slDkvRRP9
Navigating the future of futures w/ @MarieDOLLE "1.2 million— the number of times the term "trends" was searched on Google in May 2022, double the number five years ago" https://t.co/7OtFoF1TPw
Not surprising that younger people want to go into an office when you think about the state of the London rental scene. But we must ensure when they go into the office there are senior people there to learn from #futureofwork https://t.co/lXatgYFVuM
@naspap3 @metalearn_ 2/2 also just ordered the Gabor Mate book and bookmarked Ellen Langor on mindful learning - so cheers! Love the podcast btw, very much my thing as a meta-skills nerd (found it via @anthilemoon)
Fresh perspectives from @metalearn_ on the attention economy that I haven't heard before... Also off to check if I have ADD and close some loops (!) #attentioneconomy https://t.co/0uq6oo1sTf
@naspap3 @metalearn_ 1/2 Lots! I've gone deep on attention bc mindfulness training, and esp. after reading Johan Hari's book this year - but this episode offered some new insights + metaphors (the macro/micro camera zoom, the king etc). Also enjoyed the cultural / language references & storytelling..
