@njks1889 I can’t remember us having wingers and strikers with raw pace paired some modicum of ability. Just doesn’t seem to be our model or scouting preference. Shame, because it would really help us in transition if we insist on playing a low block when defending.
@HalTheBlade Did you book using a credit card? I’m not a huge user of credit cards but normally purchase flights using it for this very reason. Section 75 claims allow immediate refund to you and the bank then assume the liability and chase.
@dannyhall04 Makes a lot of sense and goes to the point CW referenced around having strong characters to balance the squad. Very sensible move considering the plight we find ourselves in.
@shaneburdekin@The_Bladesman@ryegreen90 If anything that validates my comment. The subs completely changed the game in that second half and gave us everything that I suggested was missing in the first - which was the question, wasn’t it..?
@YesWeCrann Made a claim for him being the best ‘England’ player of our lifetime and got scoffed at by some pals. Can’t think of anyone who’s delivered better for us on this stage. The most complete striker in world football, for me.
@pjridders Hi mate. looking to book a pickup at Manchester in a couple of weeks time and then a drop off another two weeks after that, if you’re available?
@sufcdan12 Our repeatable patters of play are focused on overloading wide areas rather than beating a press and getting runners from midfield - which is key to isolating defences/getting runners in behind. This allows teams to get compact meaning our strikers play with their back to goal.
@SheffUnitedWay The fact he started should tell us that this deal, if it happens at all, won’t come to fruition until the final day(s) of the window. Would like to think we have alternatives in mind but history has proven that to be a foolish assumption 😅
@JohnBrook51@TheVanBlade@Panchero@StoicaeVenator Not sure anyone was endorsing McCabe in anything that I’ve read. Purely advocating for communication from the football club. I don’t see anything controversial in that.
@BeastlyOli I, like most others, had hoped that we would match ambitions and be proactive. Will reserve final judgement for the end of the window but, with time running out and nothing imminent, I fear we’ve seen this script a few too many times to get excited.
@BeastlyOli I think we overachieved last year given the rebuild. Circumstantially, was always going to be very tough when many of our key players were loans or likely to depart this season. Add in ambitious teams coming up/1st year parachute payments coming down, a big summer was essential.
@StoicaeVenator@Panchero All joking aside, and back to Roy’s original point, Brighton and Brentford went down the data driven approach with loads of success. The difference is that they completely changed their recruitment model from top to bottom. Currently feels like we’re half-arsing it.
@Panchero@StoicaeVenator Communication does go a long way, though. Even when HRH decided against local media, he would engage with fan run and national media outlets. Private equity firms are synonymous with limited communications. Faceless most of the time. Doesn’t go down too well with sports teams.
@Panchero I’m sure it has 😂 wouldn’t want to be the recipient of some of the ‘feedback’ I’ve seen in various posts tagging them. Huge job, let’s hope they’re not as naive as it seems.
