#Procycling: Consider Strand Road Cycle Route Via Sandymount Village or S2S boardwalk. Displacing traffic incl Commerical has Many Neg Impacts on SE Dublin.
#rtept with significant budgets available why isn't NTA/DCC proposing a high-quality solution for StrandRd? Instead, they are taking a short-sighted divise approach proceeding against the advice of NTA/DCC 2015 report which may have damaging consequences to SE Dublin Communities
.@EamonRyan with significant Infra Budgets available, why is the NTA not proposing a high-quality solution for Strand Road? Against advice of 2015 NTA report, NTA/DCC will directly impact communities creating congestion & gridlock, not in line with Green Policies & not acceptable
Due to the High Court stay on @DubCityCouncil continuing works on Strand Road, which means roadworks are now suspended & unfinished, in the interest of safety from Mon 15th March there will be an enforceable 30km/hr speed limit on #StrandRoad & Beach Rd until further notice.
Great to see everybody out enjoying themselves last weekend, V Disappointing that the 24X7 HGV cordon bounded by Merrion Road/Strand Road & Bath Avenue was disbanded by @DubCityCouncil & a 30Km/h speed limit not enforced on Strand Rd to improve safety measures

let us start a discussion on a high-quality alternative that is NOT designed to displace NON-LOCAL & COMMERCIAL traffic onto SE Dublin Communities increasing traffic congestion and gridlock & increasing the risk of those living, working accessing schools https://t.co/m8Un1samf9

Why
@DCCTraffic@DubCityCouncil
is the NTA Deciding to displace Non Local Traffic including Commerical from StrandRd, knowingly increasing traffic onto SE Dublin roads that statistically, the RSA 12year Collision stats details is MORE endangering for bicycles and Pedestrians??
@OConnorOisin The real issue with the on road version of the cycle track is the #NOx7668 pollution from 7,668 vehicles that DCC and the Green party will be sending down our narrow Streets (post Covid). https://t.co/uuDEyBabh6 (DCC's figures, not ours.)
@ccferrie Yes it makes much more sense to build a commuter cycle route on the inland and more direct Merrion Road. The boardwalk is for pedestrians, the cycle path is on the land side of the sea wall. No pedestrians would walk along there in weather like that @EamonRyan @hazechu

.@hazechu @EamonRyan@DubCityCouncil what preventative measures will you commit to SE Dublin Communities? to prevent risk from rising sea levels and storm-induced flooding? we suggested extending Flood Defences we did not get a response? https://t.co/WMkq4OAUYY
@DubCityCouncil Why isn't the opportunity to extend Dublins Flood defenses not been addressed as part of an off-road high-quality cycle path solution? @EamonRyan @hazechu time is running out to address this critical climate change matter #climatechange#cycledublin

Had a good meeting with @dlrcc transport strategic policy committee last week. One of the issues we discussed was the increasing risk of the east pier being damaged from rising sea levels and storms. Hope not too much damage is done today.
@EamonRyan@dublinbusnews@IrishRail@Buseireann@cttcireland Eamonn, this video is where you plan to build your missing piece of the Sutton to Sandycove cycle way. What about flood defences? Are u going to ignore that as it is not so glamorous a headline for you?
A big thank you to all the public transport workers and operators who have kept services going right through the difficult last year, maintaining an essential service and keeping everyone safe. @dublinbusnews@IrishRail@Buseireann@cttcireland#StaySafe
